A Quick Guide to Financial Process Automation with Machine Learning

October 14, 2022 by Mark Allinson

By Yevhen Krasnokutsky, AI/ML Solution Architect at MobiDev

Fintech startups are flourishing since our lives shifted to an online format. Statista reveals that as of November 2021, there were 10,755 startups in the Americas alone.

This number is still growing in 2022, and that’s why traditional financial companies encounter difficulties trying to withstand competition and remain effective. By adopting machine learning solutions, such companies can optimize main business processes and foster customer loyalty.

So, in this article, we’re going to lift the curtain on machine learning (ML) approaches that enable process automation. [Read more…] about A Quick Guide to Financial Process Automation with Machine Learning

Automotive Cells chooses Comau to build battery production lines

October 8, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Comau has been selected by Automotive Cells Company – or ACC, a joint venture between Stellantis, TotalEnergies/Saft and Mercedes-Benz – to design and develop a “highly integrated” battery module production line for its future Gigafactory in Billy-Bercalu Douvrain, in the north of France.

With the projected capacity to ultimately ramp up to 40 GWh, ACC is set to become a European leader in enabling cleaner, efficient mobility for all. Under the terms of the agreement, Comau will supply ACC with the expertise and equipment needed to automate manufacturing of the next-generation EV batteries.

Featuring the inherent flexibility to handle both 8- and 16-cell modules, the Comau-designed lines will allow ACC to produce up to 8 Gigawatt hours (GWh) annually by the end of 2024. [Read more…] about Automotive Cells chooses Comau to build battery production lines

5 Ways Automation is Transforming the Shipping and Logistics Industry

September 29, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Shipping and logistics play a critical role in the growth of the economy. That’s true since all economic activities depend on the existence and efficiency of shipping and logistics. Therefore, no country can enhance its national income without the input of the shipping and logistics sector.

That said, shipping and logistics is the process in which products are delivered to businesses and consumers. And while it sounds simple, the process can be complex and time-consuming, especially when utilizing manual techniques. For that reason, firms in the shipping and logistics industries are leveraging the power of technology to streamline their operations.

One of the ways they achieve integration technology is through automation. It refers to the use of software to complete tasks and minimize human intervention. And for more information about automation in the shipping and logistics industry, you can visit Truckstop.com or any other similar platform. Getting your feet wet in the investment industry is a bit of a complicated process. The first thing you need to do to make your trading process more efficient and beneficial is to find a financial service provider that will furnish you with proper tools, charts, trading platforms, accounts, and so forth.

As the demand for brokers increases as time goes by so does the competition between the financial companies. All of this makes it hard to find the most suitable brokerage for you. On top of that, as the investment space expands more and more scum and fraud cases are skyrocketing.

Investfox.com – a newly launched European startup – comes with solutions. This is a platform that aims to make the investment industry more transparent with the use of both experts and user-generated reviews and in addition to that, the process of choosing the right broker for you can become quite simple for both novice or seasoned traders. Changing of the Guard: MES or Not?

September 20, 2022 by Mark Allinson

By Karan Talati, First Resonance

Innovation and operational changes are essential to maintaining your competitive edge in any industry. This is no different for manufacturing. Times are changing, and today’s manufacturers are re-evaluating their production processes.

Machine efficiency is necessary. It is important to the bottom line but doesn’t drive innovation. MES has been the go-to solution for manufacturers for decades, but it has lagged behind modern challenges facing today’s manufacturers.

Visionary entrepreneurs, startups, and incumbent companies with a new generation of engineers are looking to transform products of the physical world. To that, they need flexible and iterative workflows – not static efficiency measurements. Organizations across industries are rethinking legacy tools’ role in their operations. 3 Capabilities of an Electronic Manufacturing Services Company

August 31, 2022 by Mark Allinson

The process of manufacturing in-demand gadgets like phones and TVs follows several phases. In effect, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has to research and develop a design that meets current consumer needs.

Because of these current demands, most manufacturers build their products in-house or outsource related tasks. The latter has become a standard option for most OEMs as they focus on researching possible product improvements.

The subcontractors who handle these tasks do so in what’s referred to as electronic manufacturing services (EMS). Specialized engineering experts like Nortech Systems help OEMs attain their project goals.

The cost will depend on the complexity of the tasks and the current stage of product development. [Read more…] about 3 Capabilities of an Electronic Manufacturing Services Company

Recycling robot tackles electrical waste

August 24, 2022 by David Edwards

A sustainable circular economy depends on recycled electronic consumer goods. But recycling electronic waste can endanger human workers – which makes it an optimal application for robotics and automation.

To overcome these challenges, the Irish technology company Votechnik has developed a system based around a Kuka industrial robot.

Because of mercury and other gases, as well as sharp-edged parts, it’s dangerous for people to dismantle LCD screens and monitors. [Read more…] about Recycling robot tackles electrical waste

What is document classification, and how can machine learning help?

August 22, 2022 by David Edwards

It is hard to classify documents. At least manually.

Imagine this: you head into a standard bookstore where pieces are supposed to be classified as genres – like thriller, romance, science fiction, and more. You want to pick Andy Weir’s Hail Mary – a novel with thriller/mystery and science fiction elements.

While the book choice seems on point, the question is: which genre should you head towards? The book can be on the science fiction shelf or on the thriller counter. It can be anywhere. And that is when the manual document classification becomes troublesome. [Read more…] about What is document classification, and how can machine learning help?
