Dual Extruder 3D Printing Advantages How to Use

August 23, 2022 by Mark Allinson

A dual extruder allows people to print things in two colors, and it helps to make the printing process a little faster, or perhaps a little more efficient, and as yet may prove to offer a broader range of printing options as we advance the technology behind 3D printing.  [Read more…] about Dual Extruder 3D Printing Advantages How to Use

Website development: Ways to develop a perfect web resource

August 23, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Too many people start “nailing it” right away without taking the time to create a proper plan. But the point is, whatever job you’re doing (building a website, building a house, or starting a marketing campaign), you need to spend two-thirds of your time planning and only one-third of your time executing it.

Saving time without turning to a ui/ux design and development company, or at least this article, in the planning stage of the project leads to unforeseen errors, due to which the result is to redo some work.

No matter what kind of site you have in mind – a one-page or 15-20 pages – you should understand that it requires investments of time, effort, and money. [Read more…] about Website development: Ways to develop a perfect web resource

What You Can Do With a Laser Cutter to Start Your Own Business

April 2, 2022 by David Edwards

Using a laser solely to entertain your cat is a thing of the past. Lasers have grown in popularity, accessibility, and strength over the last several years.

No longer are they exclusive to cat-enthusiasts or high-tech doctors. Now you can own one that can cut, etch, and engrave on countless surfaces safely and affordably in your own home for yourself and others. [Read more…] about What You Can Do With a Laser Cutter to Start Your Own Business

Festo unveils extended version of robotic systems design software

February 25, 2022 by David Edwards

Festo has unveiled an extended version of its robotic systems design software, saying it enables the design of Cartesian robots “in minutes”.

Festo’s Handling Guide Online (HGO) now includes 3D cantilever systems in addition to linear, planar surface and 3D handling systems.

The company says these improvements mean that design engineers can now plan “extremely compact or extremely dynamic Cartesian robots in a matter of minutes” using the HGO’s intuitive configuration and ordering software. New soft robot morphs from a ground to air vehicle using liquid metal

February 10, 2022 by David Edwards

Imagine a small autonomous vehicle that could drive over land, stop, and flatten itself into a quadcopter. The rotors start spinning, and the vehicle flies away.

Looking at it more closely, what do you think you would see? What mechanisms have caused it to morph from a land vehicle into a flying quadcopter? You might imagine gears and belts, perhaps a series of tiny servo motors that pulled all its pieces into place.

If this mechanism was designed by a team at Virginia Tech led by Michael Bartlett, assistant professor in mechanical engineering, you would see a new approach for shape changing at the material level. [Read more…] about New soft robot morphs from a ground to air vehicle using liquid metal

Scientists unveil robotic grippers ‘delicate enough to lift egg yolks and precise enough to lift a human hair’

February 1, 2022 by Mai Tao

Engineering researchers from North Carolina State University have demonstrated a new type of flexible, robotic grippers that they say “are able to lift delicate egg yolks without breaking them, and that are precise enough to lift a human hair”. (See video below.)

The work has applications for both soft robotics and biomedical technologies.

The work draws on the art of kirigami, which involves both cutting and folding two-dimensional (2D) sheets of material to form three-dimensional (3D) shapes. [Read more…] about Scientists unveil robotic grippers ‘delicate enough to lift egg yolks and precise enough to lift a human hair’
