Comau develops ‘innovative’ industrial collaborative robotic solutions as part of the EU’s Converging Project

Comau says it is contributing “innovative industrial collaborative robotic solutions” to the European Union’s Converging project, which aims to advance smart and reconfigurable production systems to meet the challenges of modern manufacturing.

By integrating collaborative robots, autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs), artificial intelligence and human operators, Converging seeks to create human-centric production systems that can perceive, reason, adapt, collaborate and innovate.

Robot orders in key sectors ‘jumped 105 percent’, says A3

North American robot orders climbed in the third quarter of 2025, signaling renewed momentum in manufacturing automation.

According to the latest data released by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), 8,806 robots valued at $574 million were ordered in Q3, an 11.6 percent increase in units and 17.2 percent rise in revenue compared to the same period last year. HBK launches new robotic touch system with custom 6-DoF sensors

HBK, a long-established specialist in precision measurement, is advancing the frontier of robotic “touch” through its development of custom six-degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) force and torque sensors.

Aptiv and Robust.AI to co-develop AI-powered collaborative robots

Doosan Robotics wins two CES Innovation Awards 2026

Doosan Robotics, a provider of collaborative and industrial robotics, has been named a CES Innovation Awards Best of Innovation in the Artificial Intelligence category and an Honoree in the Robotics category for its Scan & Go Autonomous Robotic Solution.

The awards, presented by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), recognize outstanding design and engineering across cutting-edge technology products ahead of CES 2026, the world’s most influential tech event, taking place January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas.

Yamaha Motor launches 7-axis collaborative robot with dedicated 48V controller

Yamaha Motor has released the Yamaha Motor Cobot, a new seven-axis collaborative robot designed to operate safely alongside humans. The company has also introduced a compact, dedicated controller developed specifically for the new model.

The Yamaha Motor Cobot marks the company’s first commercially available collaborative robot and employs a seven-axis configuration that provides a degree of freedom similar to a human arm.

HD Hyundai Robotics launches new industrial robot controller with ‘enhanced safety and AI integration’

HD Hyundai Robotics has launched its next-generation industrial AI robot controller, the Hi7, which the company says “significantly enhances safety, AI capabilities, and user convenience”.

The newly released controller is equipped with HD Hyundai Robotics’ proprietary AI-based safety control solution, SafeSpace 2.0, enabling advanced safety simulations and motion control features.

By analyzing situational data collected from sensors, the AI predicts potential risks during operation and autonomously halts robot movements upon detecting motion or impact, effectively preventing safety incidents. Universal Robots, the world’s leading collaborative robot (cobot) company, has expanded its UR Series with the launch of the UR18, an industrial collaborative robot designed to deliver both power and speed in a compact form.

Comau showcases welding and robotics portfolio at Schweissen & Schneiden 2025

Comau used this year’s Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair in Essen to showcase a wide range of welding and robotics technologies, including collaborative robots, wearable exoskeletons, mobile welding systems, and advanced training platforms.

The Italian automation company presented its portfolio at Booth C27 in Hall 2, positioning itself as a supplier of both industrial and collaborative solutions designed to improve productivity and flexibility across different sectors.

Among the systems on display was a new arc welding cell built around the company’s S-Series robot, in its 18 kg payload version (S-18). Regal Rexnord partners with ABB for ‘seamless integration of cobot seventh axes’

Regal Rexnord has joined forces with automation giant ABB Robotics to simplify integration of its GoFa cobots into 7th Axis Cobot Transfer Units (CTUs) from Thomson, one of Regal Rexnord’s linear motion brands.

This collaboration makes the Thomson Movotrak CTU the first cobot 7th axis technology that ABB Robotics has certified for use in its partner ecosystem.
