Chipotle pilots robots at key restaurants

November 3, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Chipotle Mexican Grill, one of the largest restaurant chains in the US, is piloting advanced technologies such as robotics to enhance its employee and guest experience by streamlining operations and reducing friction.

The company recently began piloting two new technologies in its restaurants to deliver precise forecasting, optimal quality, and increased convenience for digital guests.

In select Southern California restaurants, Chipotle is piloting a cook to needs kitchen management system that provides demand-based cooking and ingredient preparation forecasts to optimize throughput and freshness while minimizing food waste. Restaurant robots ‘can soon replace key jobs’, says report

November 3, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Capterra research finds that three-quarters of restaurants are now using automation

As labor shortages and rising costs continue to cut into profit margins, restaurants are looking for ways to improve their business model – and automation is increasingly looking like a viable solution.

From conversational AI drive-thrus to full-service fry cook robots, the possibilities are endless, but not all roles can be replaced.

Capterra’s 2022 Restaurant Automation Survey found that more than half of restaurant leaders say front-of-house restaurant workers can easily be automated with today’s technology, but some disciplines remain currently beyond automation. Skyline Robotics uses Kuka industrial robot to clean skyscraper windows

November 1, 2022 by David Edwards

Skyline Robotics says it has succeeded in automating window washing for the world’s skyscrapers – a task that has been done manually for over 100 years.

To automate the window-cleaning task, Skyline developed “Ozmo”, a system that combines an industrial robot, computerized vision system, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies.

What formerly required three to four months of manual labor, Ozmo does automatically in about half the time. But most importantly, the system ensures safety by removing human workers from the window washing platform or “basket”. Storage Robots: What Are They?

October 14, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Storing data on several external hard drives can be inconsistent and time-consuming with the increasing accumulation of terabytes of data.

While not a robot in the traditional sense of the word, a storage robot eliminates the need to manually manage data by allowing you to add or change drives automatically when additional storage is required.

Here’s all you need to know about storage robots that protect your data from hard drive crashes and can continuously expand in seconds. [Read more…] about Storage Robots: What Are They?
