CorTec receives FDA ‘breakthrough’ designation for brain-computer interface in stroke rehabilitation

April 11, 2026 by Sam Francis

CorTec has received “Breakthrough Device Designation” from the US Food and Drug Administration for its Brain Interchange system, a fully implantable brain-computer interface (BCI) designed to support motor recovery in stroke patients.

The designation applies to the use of direct cortical electrical stimulation to treat chronic stroke-related impairments, marking what the company describes as the first BCI globally to receive this recognition specifically for stroke motor rehabilitation.

The FDA’s Breakthrough Device program is intended for technologies that may provide more effective treatment for life-threatening or irreversibly debilitating conditions, offering developers prioritized review and closer interaction with regulators. How to Run LLM Evaluation for Better AI Performance

April 10, 2026 by Sam Francis

Production AI systems embedded in automated workflows, robotics-assisted operations, customer support systems, and compliance environments carry measurable behavioral risk that increases proportionally with deployment scope and model autonomy.

In such settings, the behavior of the large language model must conform to defined operational, policy, and compliance standards.

Deploying a model without structured evaluation introduces quantifiable risk, particularly in decision-support, documentation, and customer communication workflows where output errors carry downstream liability. [Read more…] about How to Run LLM Evaluation for Better AI Performance

AI-Driven Brute Force: Why Traditional Rate Limiting is Dead in 2026

April 7, 2026 by Sam Francis

AI-driven brute force is a problem that’s only getting worse. According to a recent study, cyberattacks using AI and ML have risen by 89% year-over-year as of early 2026, with around 11,000 attacks taking place per second.

What’s more, the technology behind these attacks is only improving, and so, while the volume rises, so too does the effectiveness with which these attacks bypass security measures and exploit vulnerabilities. [Read more…] about AI-Driven Brute Force: Why Traditional Rate Limiting is Dead in 2026

Measuring ROI from Intranet Investments as Organizations Scale Advanced Automation

March 30, 2026 by Sam Francis

As automation becomes central to operations, organizations face growing pressure to demonstrate the value of internal systems like intranets. Reliable measurement of intranet Return On Investment (ROI) requires linking platform performance to automation outcomes and real operational results.

With automation scaling rapidly in many sectors, organizations are increasingly scrutinizing the ROI of their intranet investments. Internal communication and knowledge management become more complex as processes grow automated, raising the strategic profile of modern intranet systems.

In highly automated environments, intranet platforms are expected to actively support how work gets done. Organizations often rely on resources such as an intranet software comparison report to evaluate available solutions, compare features, and understand how different platforms align with business needs. Nebius teams with Nvidia to build cloud for robotics and physical AI

March 20, 2026 by Sam Francis

Nebius, the AI cloud company, has announced it is collaborating with Nvidia to accelerate physical AI development with an end-to-end platform purpose-built for the full robotics lifecycle, from simulation and training to real-world deployment at scale.

Combining Nebius’s global AI cloud infrastructure with the Nvidia Physical AI Data Factory Blueprint, an open reference architecture for massive data generation and evaluation, Nebius will provide robotics developers and enterprises an agent-driven environment that addresses the two fundamental barriers to physical AI at scale: infrastructure and tooling fragmentation, and the lack of high-quality training data for rare, unpredictable scenarios that determine real-world success.

“Physical AI is going to be one of the defining technology shifts of this decade, and the teams building it today are being held back by infrastructure and tooling that was never designed for those workloads, ” said Evan Helda, head of physical AI at Nebius. 7 Best Dedicated IP VPNs for Industrial IoT Security: Static IP for OT Firewall Whitelisting

March 19, 2026 by Sam Francis

Factories, utilities, and smart buildings rely on remote access – and so do attackers. The 2025 SANS State of ICS/OT Security survey found that unauthorized external access sparked 50 percent of last year’s industrial cyber incidents.

The usual fix is to “just use a VPN,” but consumer services rotate exit IPs, forcing firewalls to block you along with the bad actors.

A dedicated-IP VPN provides one unchanging address the plant can trust, so you can lock an allow-list and sleep at night. We tested seven options built for OT realities; here’s what we found. Ready? Let’s dig in. [Read more…] about 7 Best Dedicated IP VPNs for Industrial IoT Security: Static IP for OT Firewall Whitelisting

What is a Transparent Proxy?

March 10, 2026 by David Edwards

Understanding how internet traffic is managed behind the scenes often feels like looking inside a glass wall – you know something is there, but you don’t always notice it. That is exactly where the concept of a transparent proxy fits.

It operates quietly, without asking users for permission or configuration, yet it plays a powerful role in how data flows across networks. So, what is a transparent proxy, and why does it matter so much in today’s digital infrastructure? [Read more…] about What is a Transparent Proxy?
