5 Tips to Practice Sustainable Manufacturing

November 25, 2020 by Sam Francis

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
Albert Einstein

Sustainability is the future of manufacturing. With methodology like lean manufacturing, industrial companies can stay ahead of the competition by reducing waste, improving customer opinion, and increasing cost savings.

If you want to start on the path of sustainability, read more below. [Read more…] about 5 Tips to Practice Sustainable Manufacturing

Plastic-eating bacteria could help recycle waste ‘six times faster’

October 1, 2020 by David Edwards

The University of Portsmouth scientists who re-engineered the plastic-eating enzyme PETase have now created an enzyme “cocktail” which can digest plastic up to six times faster.

A second enzyme, found in the same rubbish dwelling bacterium that lives on a diet of plastic bottles, has been combined with PETase to speed up the breakdown of plastic.

PETase breaks down polyethylene terephthalate (PET) back into its building blocks, creating an opportunity to recycle plastic infinitely and reduce plastic pollution and the greenhouse gases driving climate change. 5 ways robots are cleaning up the world’s oceans

June 15, 2020 by Sam Francis

Written by Pippa Strickland from iDiveblue.com

Robotics have changed our lives in remarkable ways and when you consider the vastness of our oceans (which cover more than 70 percent of the Earth’s surface), it makes sense that robotics is being harnessed to conduct research and preserve our ocean health.

From improving ship fuel efficiency to repopulating reefs and removing marine litter, here are five ways that robotic innovations are leading to a brighter future for our ocean-dwelling species. [Read more…] about 5 ways robots are cleaning up the world’s oceans

5 Technologies That Would Change Waste Management Industry

May 9, 2019 by Mark Allinson

Today’s waste management system can’t deal with the tons of trash that are generated every single day.

Automating the procedure of trash disposal or sorting, by using artificial intelligence for smart waste management and recycling, is expected to be better garbage disposal method to recycle.

Do you remember the story of the sci-fi movie, Wall-E, where robot waste compactors were stationed on earth to clean it? [Read more…] about 5 Technologies That Would Change Waste Management Industry
