7 Best Dedicated IP VPNs for Industrial IoT Security: Static IP for OT Firewall Whitelisting

March 19, 2026 by Sam Francis

Factories, utilities, and smart buildings rely on remote access – and so do attackers. The 2025 SANS State of ICS/OT Security survey found that unauthorized external access sparked 50 percent of last year’s industrial cyber incidents.

The usual fix is to “just use a VPN,” but consumer services rotate exit IPs, forcing firewalls to block you along with the bad actors.

A dedicated-IP VPN provides one unchanging address the plant can trust, so you can lock an allow-list and sleep at night. We tested seven options built for OT realities; here’s what we found. Ready? Let’s dig in. [Read more…] about 7 Best Dedicated IP VPNs for Industrial IoT Security: Static IP for OT Firewall Whitelisting

From industrial robot arms to humanoids: Nvidia tightens its grip on the future of robotics

March 19, 2026 by Sam Francis

Nvidia is rapidly emerging as the central technology provider to the global robotics industry, with a growing list of partners spanning traditional industrial robot manufacturers, surgical robotics firms, and a new wave of humanoid startups.

In a sweeping set of announcements at its GTC conference, the company revealed that many of the world’s best-known robotics companies – including ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa and Kuka – are now building on its platforms, alongside newer entrants such as Agility Robotics, Figure AI and 1X.

The breadth of that ecosystem suggests a shift that has been under way for several years: robotics is becoming an AI-driven industry, and Nvidia is positioning itself as the default supplier of the underlying compute, simulation and software infrastructure. Robotic sorting and recycling: Improving purity and efficiency in waste streams

March 19, 2026 by Sam Francis

The economics of waste is changing

The world is producing more waste than ever – and struggling to deal with it.

Globally, around 2.01 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste (rubbish collected by local governments) are generated each year, and roughly a third of it is not managed in an environmentally sound way.

Despite decades of policy efforts, the results are mixed. Only 19 percent of municipal waste is recycled worldwide, according to UN-backed estimates. [Read more…] about Robotic sorting and recycling: Improving purity and efficiency in waste streams

7 Best Employee Training Platforms for Manufacturing Teams in 2026

March 18, 2026 by Sam Francis

Factories are humming again, yet talent is scarce. In the UK alone, 49,000 manufacturing jobs sat vacant in April 2025, a snapshot of the global skills crunch TechRadar.

According to microlearning provider 5Mins.ai, plants that roll out focused compliance training record a 28 percent drop in recordable incidents – proof that smart learning platforms protect both people and production.

Below, we rank the seven best training platforms built for manufacturing. You’ll see how each one handles mobile and offline delivery, certifications, IoT data, and granular analytics so you can choose with confidence. Is Your Organization Truly Crisis Ready?

March 18, 2026 by Sam Francis

Being prepared can determine the level to which an organization is able to deal with unforeseen adversities. Most say all they need is a simple plan. But true preparedness is not a mere to-do list.

It can make or break an organization in the wake of protracted disruptions and unexpected challenges, requiring clear strategies, adaptable teams, and effective communications. [Read more…] about Is Your Organization Truly Crisis Ready?

Agibot stages robot-led live show to demonstrate humanoids operating at scale

March 18, 2026 by Sam Francis

Agibot, a humanoid robotics company specializing in embodied intelligence, recently hosted something it called “Agibot Night”, a robot-led gala show streamed live across the internet to millions.

The 60-minute program marks the world’s first large-scale live event fully led by humanoid robots, where humanoid robots took center stage to perform dance, magic, comedy, and music, appearing not as tools or supporting elements, but as the primary performers throughout the show.

“Agibot Night goes beyond a conventional product showcase and marks a milestone for humanoid robotics, demonstrating how embodied intelligence is moving from laboratory experimentation into real-world social and cultural settings,” said Qiu Heng, chief marketing officer of Agibot. Torc Robotics and Daimler expand autonomous truck testing to Michigan public roads

March 17, 2026 by Sam Francis

Torc, a pioneer in self-driving vehicle technology, has announced the expansion of its autonomous truck testing operations to public roads in Michigan using the latest-generation Daimler Truck autonomous chassis based on the industry-leading Freightliner Cascadia.

Building on Torc’s established testing operations in Dallas-Fort Worth and Blacksburg, the expansion in Michigan marks a significant step in Torc’s continued growth in the region as the company deepens its engineering presence and broadens testing capabilities.

Testing its autonomous trucks in the greater Ann Arbor, Michigan area represents the natural next step in Torc’s strategy to bring this technology safely and reliably to the long-haul trucking industry. After establishing the Ann Arbor engineering office last year, the development work taking place there is now “on the road” in Michigan and contributing to Torc’s next generation of software. Saildrone and Woolpert deploy autonomous surface vessel for NOAA seafloor mapping

March 17, 2026 by Sam Francis

Woolpert and Saildrone have partnered to acquire and process bathymetric survey data for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s Ocean Exploration and Office of Coast Survey in support of safe navigation and national ocean mapping initiatives, including the National Strategy for Mapping, Exploring, and Characterizing the United States Exclusive Economic Zone and Seabed 2030 initiative.

The Mariana Islands’ strategic location and vast marine ecosystems make it a critical region for monitoring and analysis. The data will be used by NOAA to help enhance its understanding of sensitive habitats, marine geohazards, oceanographic conditions, seafloor composition, and ecosystem management within the US exclusive economic zone in the vicinity of the Mariana Islands. It will also help expand taxonomic reference libraries for understudied marine organisms.

Woolpert, a leading provider of lidar and sonar bathymetry data, was selected by NOAA to map the seafloor off the eastern coast of the Mariana Islands. The firm partnered with Saildrone, which will use a 20-meter Saildrone Surveyor uncrewed surface vehicle designed for persistent maritime intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and deep-ocean mapping.
