Brain Corp unveils new platform for its autonomous commercial robots

Brain Corp, an artificial intelligence company specializing in cleaning and inventory robotics, has released its “next generation autonomy platform for commercial robotics”.

The third generation platform represents the latest evolution of Brain Corp’s BrainOS autonomous robotic operating system, which currently powers over 20,000 autonomous robots operating in public spaces, and has been designed to underpin a future generation of intelligent robotic solutions to be applied across multiple commercial sectors.

SoftBank Robotics and Gausium partner to expand robotic solutions across US market

SoftBank Robotics America (SBRA) and Gausium, an autonomous cleaning and service robots provider, have agreed a partnership to deploy indoor automated robotic solutions to the US market.

The partnership will focus on helping companies successfully adopt, integrate, and scale robotic solutions within their organizations.

T.I.E. Industrial purchases Robots.com and Robotworx brands

T.I.E. Industrial, an aftermarket supplier of CNC parts, refurbished industrial robots and general automation repair, has acquired Robots.com and the RobotWorx name.

The asset acquisition expands the T.I.E. brand family, leveraging decades of experience in robotic equipment sales, repair and service to position Robots.com as an end-to-end partner in manufacturing automation.

T.I.E. Industrial did not buy the company but the remaining assets of the website Robots.com and the RobotWorx name. Sarcos demonstrates robotic technologies for shipyard operations

Sarcos Technology and Robotics, a developer of highly dexterous exoskeletons and robotic systems that augment humans to enhance productivity and safety, says it has executed field trials demonstrating improved worker safety and productivity for shipyard operations.

Sarcos robotic systems are designed to carry out maintenance, inspection, and repair activities, on and around ships that are underway and pier side, creating safer and more effective shipyard operations and improving the efficiency of sailors and shipyard workers.

Vecna Robotics unveils ‘major software release’

Vecna Robotics, a specialist in material handling automation solutions, has unveiled what it describes as “a major software release and hardware upgrades” to its AFL-class autonomous forklift.

The new capabilities expand the company’s reach within warehouse and factory floors by optimizing material transport between other machinery and equipment, with specific focus on low-lift workflows.

The update supports numerous above-ground workflows including: inbound staging to AS/RS induction; delivering materials to ergonomic lift stands for work-in-process flows; and loading and extracting from robotic palletizers and stretch wrappers. Numurus secures $2 million to grow its open-source robotic applications software business

Numurus, a robotic solutions company and developer of NEPI, a commercial open-source software solution for robotic and smart sensing applications, has secured $2 million in funding led by Tokusui Corporation of America.

The startup says the funds will help it to establish its position in the rapidly growing robotics and smart sensing markets.

Combined with previous funding, this investment fortifies Numurus’ first-to-market entrance with its fully-developed NEPI software suite that focuses on edge artificial intelligence (Edge AI), sensor and data abstraction, and system interfacing. Edson to debut new robotic cell at Pack Expo

Edson, a ProMach brand, is debuting its new KDF Stack Prep System, a robotic cell that automates the infeed area of a case packer, in booth N-5348 at Pack Expo 2022, October 23-26, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Edson is a manufacturer of case and tray packing solutions for the converted paper, diaper, and nonwoven markets.

After stacks are loaded onto the case packer’s infeed conveyors, the KDF (knocked down flat) Stack Prep System prepares the cases by cutting bands and removing dunnage and other cardboard or paper materials used during transportation.
