OrionStar launches ‘Lucki’, the robotic waiter

OrionStar, a service robot solutions company, has launched Lucki, which the company claims is “the world’s first” AI powered, interactive delivery robot designed for restaurants, supermarkets, hospitals and more.

The company says its robot improves delivery efficiency and increases revenue for businesses through customer attraction, dynamic advertising and personalized interactions, offers a Covid-safe contactless delivery, as well as addresses the restaurant and hospitality industry labor shortage.

Mecademic releases new firmware for its tiny robot

Mecademic has released the latest version of the firmware – 8.4 – for its tiny Meca500 industrial robotic arm.

The company says this update “prioritizes the features most requested by our user community and is provided free of charge”.

Made4CNC launches ‘world’s first’ completely automatic CNC door opening solution for robots

A new Danish company says it has solved a well-known and previously “unsolvable challenge” in the metal industry.

Made4CNC has developed what is claimed to be the world’s first completely automatic door opening solution for robotic machine tending, fitted to any robot and CNC machine in under an hour.

Sarcos Robotics signs up Pine Environmental as distribution partner

Sarcos Robotics, a developer of exoskeletons and other robotic systems, has signed up Pine Environmental Services as an official distributor.

Pine Environmental is a professional services company providing equipment for environmental monitoring, nondestructive testing, visual inspection, and continuous emissions monitoring.

Italian startup Automationware developing robotic solution for food industry

An Italian startup called Automationware is developing an integrated robotic solution for the food industry.

The innovative HyFlexyBot project is the result of a partnership between the Venetian mechatronics company Automationware and the Modenese innovation hub Crit.

Described as “an integrated solution that will improve and make more efficient the production and logistics of the food industry”, the HyFlexyBot project is in the top 10 of the Agrobofood-Horizon2020 community program and will be funded by the European Union with €300,000. Teknic ClearPath servos power Guinness World Record domino robot

Teknic’s ClearPath servos were used to power a much-talked-about robot called “the Dominator”, a Guinness World Record setting robot, made by Mark Rober (main picture). 

In just over 24 hours, the Dominator placed more than over 100,000 dominos to create a Super Mario Brothers mural. (See video below.)
