Telexistence to install AI re-stocking robots in 300 convenience stores across Japan

August 10, 2022 by Mai Tao

Telexistence has started the mass production of its originally developed artificial intelligence robot, TX SCARA, to be installed in 300 FamilyMart stores, Japan’s top-tier convenience store chain in major metropolitan areas, starting later this month, validating its AI-based “robot-as-a-service” solution for grocery retailers.

TX SCARA was created to do the specific task of restocking refrigerated shelves with bottles and cans, a repetitive, tedious job generally performed by employees in often uncomfortable settings.

TX SCARA can be in operation 24/7, replenishing shelves at a pace of up to 1,000 bottles and cans per day, relying almost completely on its AI system – known as “GORDON” – to know when and where products need to be placed on the shelves. Pony.ai to mass produce autonomous driving controller built on Nvidia Drive Orin

July 6, 2022 by David Edwards

Pony.ai, a leading global autonomous driving technology company, announced today that its Autonomous Driving Controller (ADC), powered by the Nvidia Drive Hyperion compute architecture (Drive Orin), has been sampled to customers with plans to mass produce the ADC starting in Q4 2022.

Since January 2022, Pony.ai has been conducting road tests optimizing the software to run at low latency and with real-time performance. Pony.ai’s autonomous fleets will feature the Nvidia Drive Orin system-on-chip (SoC) as the centralized compute and AI engine.

Pony.ai’s latest ADC offers single or dual Nvidia Drive Orin configurations, delivering 254 and 508 trillion operations per second (TOPS), respectively. As the world’s highest performance automotive-grade SoC, Drive Orin is designed to handle large numbers of applications and deep neural networks simultaneously, while achieving systematic safety standards, to ensure safe, highly advanced intelligent driving.
