How Do Emergency Alert Apps Work?

December 28, 2021 by Mark Allinson

There are many things going on in the world today, for example, wars, pandemics, social tensions, and protests. With all of this, it is more important than ever to stay in touch and keep others informed about the latest developments.

This state of affairs has prompted many developers and scientists to pay closer attention to the modern means of communication available to almost everyone – smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets.

The signal coverage area of cellular networks in all developed countries is approaching 100 percent. If you add up the first part of the paragraph and the second, we can conclude that the article is about emergency communication app and the ways to use it. Siemens makes first industrial 5G router available

July 26, 2021 by David Edwards

Siemens has released its first industrial 5G router – the Scalance MUM856-1. The device connects local industrial applications to public 5G, 4G (LTE), and 3G (UMTS) mobile wireless networks.

The router can be used to remotely monitor and service plants, machines, control elements, and other industrial devices via a public 5G network – flexibly and with high data rates.

Demand for this type of solution is growing in industry. In addition, the device can be integrated into private 5G networks. The Scalance MUM856-1 therefore supports future-oriented applications such as mobile robots in manufacturing, autonomous vehicles in logistics or augmented reality applications for service technicians. Deep learning networks prefer the human voice – just like we do

April 7, 2021 by David Edwards

Columbia engineers demonstrate that AI systems might reach higher performance if programmed with sound files of human language rather than with binary data labels. (See video below.)

The digital revolution is built on a foundation of invisible 1s and 0s called bits.

As decades pass, and more and more of the world’s information and knowledge morph into streams of 1s and 0s, the notion that computers prefer to “speak” in binary numbers is rarely questioned.

According to new research from Columbia Engineering, this could be about to change. [Read more…] about Deep learning networks prefer the human voice – just like we do
