German Bionic, an exoskeleton developer, has launched its “Apogee+” powered exoskeleton to the North American healthcare market.

Merging cutting-edge robotics with research-backed, data-driven insights, the wearable technology aims to “redefine the landscape of support for caregivers – cultivating a realm of enhanced well-being and sustainable working conditions for nursing and care professionals”, according to German Bionic. BlueBotics and ProLog Automation partner to drive German AGV adoption

BlueBotics and ProLog Automation have signed a strategic partnership to help drive the adoption of automated guided vehicles (AGV/FTS) across the German manufacturing and logistics sectors.

This agreement positions ProLog Automation as a key BlueBotics solutions partner for the German market.

Under the terms of the agreement, ProLog’s AGV consulting and integration teams will undergo extensive training by BlueBotics’ engineers on the company’s Autonomous Navigation Technology (ANT), a predominantly software-based platform on which companies can build robust, scalable, and even interoperable fleets of diverse ‘ANT driven’ vehicles. French logistics robotics specialist Scallog accelerates expansion in Germany

French logistics robotics specialist Scallog says it is accelerating its development and expansion in Germany with a view to becoming one of the leading companies in the sector.

Scallog has signed an agreement with Xproma, a recognized expert in robotics and intralogistics at the service of optimization and logistics performance. Scallog says the deal will help establish its presence in Germany, which represents a quarter of the European logistics market.

Autonomous truck maker Einride launches in Germany

Autonomous truck startup Einride has launched into Europe’s largest transportation market – Germany. In conjunction with the official launch, Einride has signed an impressive list of local partners including global appliance leader Electrolux.

Robert Falck, founder and CEO of Einride, says: “Germany is in the driving seat of Europe; where it goes others follow suit.

German citizens to be given €1,200 a month for doing nothing

German citizens are to be given €1,200 a month, or about $1,400, for doing nothing in an experiment to evaluate the effects of a concept called “universal basic income”.

Universal Basic Income, or UBI, is an idea that has been around for many years, and has many supporters and advocacy groups around the world, but was never really taken seriously in the past.

Universal Robots launches ‘world’s largest’ virtual conference for collaborative robots

Universal Robots has launched what it describes as “the world’s largest virtual conference and exhibition for collaborative robots”.

Named “WeAreCobots”, the event will take place June 16-18, 2020, targeting a European audience with automation trend keynotes and an extensive range of product news and demonstrations in five different languages.

BICS powers first intelligent exoskeleton with global connectivity

BICS, a global communications enabler, is providing global internet-of-things connectivity and asset management for a pioneering exoskeleton developed by German Bionic.

The Cray X is the first connected asset from the Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) provider and marks the first instance of a European manufacturer developing, producing and deploying smart exoskeletons for use in industrial production.

Nidec to supply actuators for German Bionic exoskeleton

Nidec is to supply “super flat” actuators for a new German Bionic exoskeleton prototype, which will be showcased at an exhibition in Tokyo. 

A German Bionic exoskeleton prototype based on its Cray X power suit that uses Nidec-Shimpo’s innovative super flat actuator will be displayed at the International Robot Exhibition 2019 (iREX 2019), a trade show focusing on industrial and service robots and related equipment, taking place December 18-21 at Tokyo Big Sight.
