6 Tips to Maintain Top CSA Scores for Truckers

April 24, 2023 by Mark Allinson

A successful trucking company must have high Compliance Safety Accountability (CSA) scores. CSA, or Compliance, Safety, and Accountability is a government program designed to assure dependability and safety. The CSA score is used to determine whether or not a company requires a DOT visit.

A roadside inspection may start with one evident violation but does not necessarily finish there. If the inspector undertakes a comprehensive driver and vehicle assessment, penalty points from roadside offenses can soon build up. Truckers frequently strive to maintain a good CSA score.

Good scores lead to more customers and greater business chances. Good scores are also important in lowering liability and demonstrating to clients and law enforcement that truckers are dedicated to safety. But in case of a bad CSA score truckers are less likely to get more clients and their carrier insurance cost will also be impacted negatively. Motional to add new features to its robotaxi service

April 9, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Ride-hail passengers in Las Vegas can now take an autonomous ride in a Motional IONIQ 5 robotaxi at night

“Las Vegas is a city that really comes alive once the sun goes down, so extending our service to match rider demand is a critical step forward in the evolution of our vehicle,” says Akshay Jaising, Motional’s vice president of commercialization.

“We’re happy we can now spend more hours everyday introducing passengers to our technology, and helping them travel safely and comfortably where they need to go.”

Night driving is one of three passenger-friendly service upgrades making their way to Motional’s fleet of all-electric IONIQ 5 robotaxis, which have been carrying public passengers in Las Vegas since August. [Read more…] about Motional to add new features to its robotaxi service

Safety Features of Self-Driving Cars

April 6, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Self-driving cars are one of the most revolutionary technological advancements of our time. As with any new technology, safety is paramount for these vehicles. To ensure the safety of their passengers and those around them, self-driving cars have various features designed to keep everyone safe.

With advances in technology, self-driving cars will be safer than human operated vehicles. In the US, 30,000 lives are lost each year in motor vehicle accidents, often due to fatigue, human error, and drunk driving.

Autonomous vehicles function without these behaviors, potentially saving thousands of lives. Here is a look at some of the advanced safety features of self-driving vehicles. [Read more…] about Safety Features of Self-Driving Cars

Nissan to develop its ‘most advanced’ driver assistance system to date

February 10, 2023 by Mai Tao

Nissan is planning to develop its “most advanced” driver assistance system to date in collaboration with Trimble Technology.

Trimble says that Nissan Motor will use Trimble RTX technology as its high-accuracy positioning source, enabling the hands-off and guided freeway driving capabilities of Toyota’s ProPILOT Assist 2.0 driver assistance system, available initially on the 2023 Nissan Ariya.

While positioning with standard Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals may drift up to 10 meters (25 feet), Trimble says its RTX system provides higher accuracy and enables consistent lane determination for driving applications.
