The Most Promising Business Cases for Computer Vision

September 19, 2022 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

Evgeniy Krasnokutsky, AI/ML Team Leader, PhD at mobbed

Computer vision is one of the most popular AI technologies whose task is to understand and interpret information from digital images, videos, and other visual inputs.

These properties open up a lot of business opportunities and in this article, we will talk about the most promising applications of this technology.

Medical Image Processing in Healthcare

Sophisticated medical imaging is the driving force behind the power of modern medicine. Traditionally, human professionals perform analysis of medical imagery such as X-rays and CT scans. [Read more…] about The Most Promising Business Cases for Computer Vision

Automating image-based inspection with artificial intelligence

November 4, 2020 by Elaine Leave a Comment

High demands on products as well as high time and cost pressure are decisive competitive factors across all industries and sectors.

Whether in the food or automotive industry quality, safety and speed are today more than ever before factors that determine the success of a company.

Zero-defect production is the goal. But how can it be guaranteed that only flawless products leave the production line? [Read more…] about Automating image-based inspection with artificial intelligence

Omron launches AI vision system which ‘captures defects with human-like sensitivity’

July 6, 2020 by Mai Tao Leave a Comment

Omron has launched its new “FH Series Vision System” with the industry’s first defect detection AI technology that identifies defects without learning samples.

The company says the artificial intelligence-based technology “captures defects with human-like sensitivity”.

It claims the system reproduces human sensibility and the techniques of skilled inspectors, reliably detects defects that were once difficult to capture, automating human vision-based visual inspection. Overcoming chip defectivity challenges in automotive product development

April 6, 2020 by David Edwards Leave a Comment

By Serena Brischetto, marketing and communications manager at SEMI Europe

In the future, electronics-related gear including advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) will account for a whopping 50 percent of automotive costs.

More importantly, with more control of vehicles shifting to automation, the margin of error in component performance and reliability will become vanishingly small as zero defects become the new safety standard.

SEMI’s Serena Brischetto spoke with Antoine Amade, senior regional director EMEA, Entegris about zero defects as a “new collaborative approach” (see video below) necessary to shape the car of the future and the automotive industry.
