Fort Robotics acquires Mapless AI to expand supervised autonomy and physical AI safety platform

Fort Robotics, the trust layer for physical AI, has announced the acquisition of Mapless AI, a Boston- and Pittsburgh-based leader in vehicle teleoperation and autonomy supervision.

The acquisition represents a significant commercial expansion of Fort’s Trust Platform, adding two critical new capabilities: remote human-in-the-loop teleoperation and onboard active safety.

CVPR 2026 fields 16,000+ paper submissions on technical advances in AI

The program committee of the 2026 Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), one of the world’s leading artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision research events, has released the details of this year’s technical program.

Co-sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society (CS) and the Computer Vision Foundation (CVF), CVPR 2026 drew a record number of paper submissions – 16,092, a 24 percent increase over 2025. Through a rigorous peer-review process, about one-quarter were accepted to the program, resulting in 4,089 paper presentations.

“CVPR submissions have more than doubled over the past five years, but the acceptance rate has remained highly competitive, consistently in the low-to-mid 20 percent range,” said Alexander G. Schwing, associate professor, electrical and computer engineering, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, CVPR 2026 program co-chair. Soft robotics – machines made of flexible, muscle-like materials – can bend and stretch in fluid ways that put the rigid robots of old sci-fi movies to shame. 

But the flexibility that lets them pick ripe tomatoes or navigate a search-and-rescue site comes at a cost: soft robotics are notoriously difficult to control.

Humanoid secures partnership with manufacturing giant Bosch following a successful proof of concept

Humanoid, a UK-based AI and robotics company, has agreed a partnership with manufacturing giant Bosch, marking the transition to scaled production of humanoid robots.

The agreement follows the successful completion of a joint proof of concept (POC) in March 2026, where Humanoid’s platform demonstrated full capability in a complex industrial workflow.

The POC focused on an intralogistics use case: HMND 01 robots autonomously transferred boxes from a conveyor to a trolley in Bosch’s dynamic logistics environment in Bühl, Germany. The POC involved handling 5 different box sizes across multiple footprints, heights and varying weights. Shyld AI raises $13.4 million to expand ‘active’ AI across US hospitals

Shyld AI, a healthcare technology company pioneering “active intelligence” for healthcare facilities, has raised a $13.4 million seed round, one of the largest early-stage rounds in the healthcare AI sector.

The round was led by Aulis Capital and will fund expansion across US health systems.
