ACEINNA launches ‘high performance’ inertial measurement unit for autonomous vehicles robots, and ADAS

ACEINNA has announced the general availability of the IMU330RA high performance inertial measurement unit (IMU).

ACEINNA’s new IMU330RA is an easy-to-integrate, high-performance 6-DOF inertial sensor packaged in a ruggedized, sealed over-molded plastic housing at IP69K level.

The IMU330RA features a redundant 3-Axis Accelerometer and 3-Axis Rate Gyroscope sensors for excellent accuracy and reliability.

ZF partners with STMicroelectronics to develop silicon carbide devices

Automotive technology group ZF will, from 2025, purchase silicon carbide devices from STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications.

Under the terms of the multi-year contract, ST will supply a volume of double-digit millions of silicon carbide devices to be integrated in ZF’s new modular inverter architecture going into series production in 2025.

Demand for robot vision system set to surpass $7 million by 2033

The global robot vision system market is likely at $2,690.4 million in 2023 and expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 10.4 percent during the forecast years of 2023-2033, according to a report by Fact.MR.

In order to improve job efficiency and replace human labour, the market for robots is rising and is anticipated to rise more during the coming year.

Apex.AI launches ‘full-scale’ business expansion in the Japanese market

Apex.AI, a company developing safety-certified software for mobility and automotive applications, has expanded operations to Japan in response to “the growing demand” for software-defined vehicles and to better support businesses in the country.

With a well-established presence in the United States and Europe, Apex.AI is now focusing its international expansion efforts in Asia by launching in Japan as it is home to three of the world’s biggest automakers.

DeepRoute.ai launches $1,000 ‘map-free’ self-driving solution

DeepRoute.ai, developer of the first production-ready autonomous driving solution, has launched its new Driver 3.0 solution, which the company describes as “the latest advance to achieving full autonomous driving and widespread commercialization”.

DeepRoute.ai is among the first to successfully complete HD map-free self-driving public road tests, thus breaking limitations created by geo-fencing. It is also among the first to win a production contract from automotive manufacturers to produce autonomous vehicles for consumer use.

DeepRoute.ai’s Driver 3.0 includes two versions of its self-driving solutions for automakers. D-PRO, with a hardware cost of $2,000, includes HD map-free operation and features like valet park assist (VPA) and point-to-point navigation on all roads without operational design domain (ODD) restrictions. ACC picks Segula to help build three gigafactories in Europe

The European automotive market is rapidly electrifying, and the need for batteries to equip vehicles is increasing.

According to the European Commission, demand will increase 12-fold between 2018 and 2030.

This is a revolution for the sector, which is now relying on reindustrialisation and the development of a battery ecosystem sized to ensure the necessary production on the European continent.

This challenge has been taken up by Automotive Cells Company, a company operating in the world of battery technology for electric vehicles, which has selected Segula Technologies, which designs and implements industrial projects, to support it in its plans for three gigafactories dedicated to the production of cells and modules for electric vehicles. Growth in electric vehicle manufacturing drives industrial robot sales to record highs in North America

Data released by the Association for Advancing Automation show that 44,196 robots were ordered in 2022, up 11 percent over 2021. The record results are credited to a resurgence in sales to automotive companies looking to boost electric vehicle production.

Driven by the resurgence in robot orders from automotive companies, the North American robotics market set all-time records in both robots sold and value in 2022.

According to the report from the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), North American companies ordered 44,196 robots valued at $2.38 billion last year, representing increases of 11 percent and 18 percent, respectively, over 2021, the previous record. Rotary partners with TEXA to offer new ADAS solutions

Rotary, part of Vehicle Service Group (VSG) and Dover, has agreed a partnership with TEXA, a company involved in the design, development and production of diagnostic tools for the vehicle repair industry.

The companies say the partnership will enable Rotary to expand its automotive service offerings.

Visteon and Steradian partner to develop autonomous car functions

Visteon, a technology company serving the mobility industry, and Steradian Semiconductors, an India-based high-tech imaging radar specialist, will collaborate on efforts to produce enhanced advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) for the global automotive market.

As part of a joint development agreement, Steradian will provide Visteon with access to its advanced 4D image radar sensor hardware and perception software technology.
