Automaticon organisers expect visitors from more countries than ever

Organisers of the upcoming Automaticon event are expecting more visitors from more countries than ever before. 

The Polish trade show takes place on 17-19 of March in Warsaw. The “International Fair for Industrial Automation Automaticon”, to give the event its full name, is the main fair for automation, control, measurements and robotics in Poland.

Epson to showcase latest robotic solutions at ATX West

Epson Robots will showcase its latest robotic solutions in simulated demos at the Automation Technology Expo, ATX West.

The latest entry-level robot is available at a cost of $13,900 – the VT6L All-in-One 6-Axis robot comes with a built-in controller, a 900mm reach and payload of up to 6kg, and offers 110 V and 220 V power.

ASTI Mobile Robotics wins European Technology Award for automation

ASTI Mobile Robotics has won the “European Technology Award” in the category of “Automation”.

The European Awards are organised by the Professional and Business Excellence Institute and were presented in a ceremony at the Ritz Hotel in Paris recently.

The CEO of the company, Verónica Pascual, together with Jean-Michel Beghin, president of Keensight Capital, and Jean-Louis Menu, ASTI MR France country manager, collected the award which consolidates ASTI as a leader in mobile robotics and automation within the European market. Omron opens new automation center in Tokyo

Industrial automation giant Omron has opened a new automation center in Shinagawa, Tokyo.

The facility, dubbed an “ATC”, is designed for customers to work with Omron to find solutions to their manufacturing issues.

The 37th ATC facility in the world, ATC-Tokyo is Omron’s flagship factory automation technology center, where model production floors are built within the world’s largest ATC facility to allow customers to experience and test state-of-the-art factory automation that integrates artificial intelligence, internet of things, robotics, and other cutting-edge technologies. GM’s Cruise Automation unveils new driverless electric vehicle

Cruise Automation, the driverless car startup acquired by General Motors, has unveiled its first vehicle.

The Cruise Origin, as it is called, is electric, autonomous, driverless with no steering wheel, and designed to carry several people – about six in spacious comfort.

Severstal invests in robotics to automate advanced composites manufacturing with Airborne

Severstal, one of the world’s largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has invested in Dutch company Airborne, a developer of robotic and digital automation platforms for the production of composite parts and products with integrated composites.

Severstal joins other investors in this investment round, including Pangaea Ventures, the leading advanced materials venture capital fund, and SABIC, the world’s third largest diversified chemical company.

Fanuc invests in Soft Robotics as startup raises $23 million in oversubscribed funding round

Soft Robotics has raised $23 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round.

The round was co-led by Calibrate Ventures and Material Impact and includes additional existing investors Honeywell, Hyperplane, Scale, Tekfen Ventures, and Yamaha.
