Flytrex achieves 100,000 drone deliveries

Flytrex, an airborne food delivery service, says it has made 100,000 drone delivery across its locations in North Carolina and Texas, making it “the largest operation of its kind in the United States”.

As the only company to achieve 100,000 commercial food deliveries by drone, Flytrex has seen 70 percent of the households in their delivery areas use the service.

Severstal expands automation capabilities with second investment in Airborne

PAO Severstal, one of the world’s largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has led a second tranche of investment into Dutch company Airborne, a developer of digital automation platforms for the production of composite parts and products with integrated composites.

The total investment in Airborne has already amounted to “several tens of millions of dollars”, says Severstal.

In spite of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to many venture projects on the global market being placed on hold, Severstal led the new investment in Airborne with support of existing shareholders including HPE Growth. Severstal, one of the world’s largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has invested in Dutch company Airborne, a developer of robotic and digital automation platforms for the production of composite parts and products with integrated composites.

Severstal joins other investors in this investment round, including Pangaea Ventures, the leading advanced materials venture capital fund, and SABIC, the world’s third largest diversified chemical company.
