Which CRM is the Most Appropriate for Small Business?

March 12, 2020 by Polly

In the era of total humanization of business, it is hard to ignore a significant development of the idea of a deep insight into customers’ problems.

The more owners and developers go rooted in this concept, the more sense it makes. It is impossible to build a prosperous business without understanding your current and prospective customers’ needs and building strong B2C relationships.

By the time business starts to give the valid resolutions to clients’ problems, it is transformed into a win-win deal for both parties. And the customer relationship management systems, or CRMs, can become a perfect tool in this struggle. [Read more…] about Which CRM is the Most Appropriate for Small Business?

4 Ways Robotics and AI Are Transforming Design and Creatives

March 10, 2020 by Polly

While AI and robotics have made waves in several industries, it would seem inconceivable to the uninitiated for robots and intelligent machines to make a mark in the creatives sector. How could systems be taught creativity?

In fact, when researchers from the Oxford Martin School ranked 702 occupations according to their susceptibility to computerization, jobs that center around creativity were least in danger.

Designers, curators, artists, choreographers, dancers, musicians, singers, writers, and authors were among those less likely to be replaced by robots. [Read more…] about 4 Ways Robotics and AI Are Transforming Design and Creatives

Opinion: The incredible potential of soft robotics

March 9, 2020 by David Edwards

Alternatives to hard components hold potential for applications from surgery to space exploration

In January of 2019, Assistant Professor Ellen Mazumdar arrived in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering with the intention of building a robotic actuator without using a single hard component or material – a feat that, to her knowledge, had never been done before.

“We’re really interested in trying to build fully soft robots,” said Mazumdar. “In many current systems, soft components are hooked up to hard pumps or electronics. We want to move towards robots with soft actuators, soft sensors, soft electronics, and soft energy storage.”

In Mazumdar’s Sensing Technologies Laboratory, she is working with PhD student Noah Kohls to develop a biologically-inspired soft actuator that mimics the form and functionality of Xenia soft corals. [Read more…] about Opinion: The incredible potential of soft robotics

Boston Dynamics partners with Otto Motors to co-ordinate mobile robots in the warehouse

March 9, 2020 by Sam Francis

Boston Dynamics, a developer of mobile manipulation robots, and OTTO Motors, a maker of industrial autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), have unveiled what they describe as “a demo of the future of warehouse automation”.

In a video (see below), Boston Dynamics’s logistics robot, Handle, can be seen picking boxes and building pallets on top of OTTO AMRs in a distribution center testbed.

Last year, Boston Dynamics announced its efforts to add flexible, highly mobile automation technology to the warehouse with its Handle robot and Pick computer vision system. [Read more…] about Boston Dynamics partners with Otto Motors to co-ordinate mobile robots in the warehouse

Die Casting 101: Learn More About its Process and Advantages

March 3, 2020 by Polly

Have you ever wondered how intricate automobile parts like starter motor brackets, flywheel, solenoid valves, and the likes are produced?

Or, perhaps, the massive machine and equipment parts?

How about those Hot Wheels toy car collections that kids love? The answer: die casting.

Die casting is an industrial manufacturing process that uses tool dies, which produce metal parts that are too geometrically complex to be produced by any other means.

This process makes use of molten alloy or metal injected into a die at high pressure, which is exactly what Chicago White Metal Castings does. [Read more…] about Die Casting 101: Learn More About its Process and Advantages
