Why You Should Consider Outsourcing Your IT Support

June 2, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Some of the most controversial network security breaches have been widely published in conventional media as well as on the internet. These security breaches usually resulted in third-party intruders and hackers gaining access to the private and confidential data of a business organization’s users or clients.

Network security breaches as well as rising costs of keeping their in-house Information Technology (IT) support team have led numerous businesses to consult with TCG and IT companies on their network administration options. [Read more…] about Why You Should Consider Outsourcing Your IT Support

634AI selects RTI software to manage autonomous mobile robots fleets

May 28, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Real-Time Innovations, a software framework company for autonomous systems, says 634AI, a MushashiAI spin-out, has selected its RTI Connext DDS for real-time connectivity between its Maestro system, a robot-as-a-service software solution, and its autonomous mobile robot (AMR) platforms.

Connext allows for real-time connectivity between systems, supports fast, reliable communication, and enables 634AI to offer a central control tower that can streamline the management and control of AMR tasks on an industrial floor.

As the automation landscape advances rapidly, more suppliers are replacing forklifts with AMRs to complete a wide variety of tasks including navigating around factories and warehouses, and guiding autonomous cargo ships across oceans. The robot smiles back: Columbia scientists teach robot how to respond to human facial expressions

May 28, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Columbia Engineering researchers use AI to teach robots to make appropriate reactive human facial expressions, an ability that could build trust between humans and their robotic co-workers and care-givers. (See video below.)

While our facial expressions play a huge role in building trust, most robots still sport the blank and static visage of a professional poker player.

With the increasing use of robots in locations where robots and humans need to work closely together, from nursing homes to warehouses and factories, the need for a more responsive, facially realistic robot is growing more urgent. InOrbit launches ‘Time Capsule’ to provide greater insights into robot fleets

May 21, 2021 by Mark Allinson

InOrbit, a provider of cloud-based software to help operations teams orchestrate service robots, has launched a new service called “Time Capsule”, which gives engineering and operations staff greater insights into their robot fleets.

The latest upgrade to the SaaS platform captures critical data needed to understand robot autonomy exceptions, giving users the ability to “turn back time” to understand where the failures occurred and enabling them to improve productivity.

Time Capsule, along with additional user interface improvements, is immediately available for new and existing InOrbit customers. [Read more…] about InOrbit launches ‘Time Capsule’ to provide greater insights into robot fleets

How AI is Improving Software Development

May 20, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Artificial Intelligence has been changing the world. This technology has the capacity to seriously disrupt industries and turn traditional processes on their head.

Software development is closely linked with AI, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also improve thanks to the power of Artificial Intelligence.

In fact, in some cases, we are already seeing the power AI has in app development. We won’t be seeing fully automated software development projects in the near future, but that doesn’t mean that AI technology can’t help development teams reduce their workload and operate more efficiently. When Should Old Electrical Wiring Be Replaced?

May 18, 2021 by Mark Allinson

It is critical to replace your home’s aging electrical wiring at the first hint of danger. This risk increases if your home is old.

In the United States, each year between 45,000 and 55,000 house fires are caused by poor electrical work or obsolete wiring. In Chicago, today’s homeowners have far greater demands on the electrical supply than expected when the houses were built.

The safety of your house is jeopardized if you use computer systems, gaming systems, huge appliances, or even “smart home” components on a house built for considerably low electrical usage.

This is only one of many explanations why your electrical device could need an upgrade. Understanding when to repair electrical wiring is critical as a homeowner because your family’s safety and wellbeing are at stake. [Read more…] about When Should Old Electrical Wiring Be Replaced?

Trends in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Domain Names 2021

May 12, 2021 by Mark Allinson

A brand name plays a vital role in any business, including robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).

It evokes certain emotions and grabs the audience’s attention. If it’s appealing, the audience will be curious and more responsive. Same things apply to business domain names too.

However, coming up with a brand name that would also work as a domain name is a challenge. You have to consider its simplicity, memorability, and domain availability. [Read more…] about Trends in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Domain Names 2021
