Blockchain-based environmental drones ‘can help fight water pollution’, say scientists

November 26, 2020 by David Edwards

According to the World Health Organization, almost a third of the world’s population does not have access to fresh water.

As evidenced by the 2020 UN report on water supply and climate change in the world, water consumption will experience a 20-30 percent increase by 2050, fuelled by the constant population growth and industrial development throughout the world.

Water pollution is a serious threat to both people and water inhabitants, greatly evidenced by the ecological disaster that took place on the coast of Kamchatka in September 2020. [Read more…] about Blockchain-based environmental drones ‘can help fight water pollution’, say scientists

Whirly Max launches landscaping robot Yardroid

November 25, 2020 by David Edwards

Whirly Max is introducing its intelligent landscaping robot Yardroid, which is described as looking like a “mini tank”. It runs on tracks, is able to turn on the spot, can climb over vertical obstacles up to 6 inches high and slopes of up to 45 degrees.

The company says that Yardroid is a big step up from the perimeter guided robotic lawn mowers available today. Yardroid is controlled by computer vision and artificial intelligence.

It can find its way around an area by special proprietary computer algorithms. Instead of randomly criss-crossing a lawn, Yardroid drives in a defined pattern. It can automatically change the mowing height. [Read more…] about Whirly Max launches landscaping robot Yardroid
