Kerlink and Tata Communications launch partnership to expand LoRaWAN network deployments

Kerlink, a specialist in solutions dedicated to the internet of things, and Tata Communications Transformation Services (TCTS), have formed a partnership to promote and deploy LoRaWAN IoT networks globally.

The partnership was announced at the LoRa Alliance three-day All Members Meeting in Berlin. LoRaWAN stands for long-range wide area network.

Kerlink and TCTS will demonstrate to telecom carriers, start-up IoT connectivity providers, cities and large multinationals how LoRa technology is one of the most responsive and reliable protocols for IoT connectivity. Tata Steel and ThyssenKrupp sign joint venture to create new steel firm in Europe

Tata Steel and thyssenkrupp AG have signed definitive agreements to combine their European steel businesses in a 50/50 joint venture in a new company. This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in September 2017.

The proposed new company, to be named thyssenkrupp Tata Steel BV, will be positioned as a leading pan-European high-quality flat-steel producer with a strong focus on performance, quality and technology leadership.

The joint venture is built on the strong foundations of common value systems and a long heritage in the industry, say the companies.

TAL unveils welding solution involving its Brabo industrial robot

Indian company TAL Manufacturing Solutions is showcasing a new welding solution which features its own industrial robot, the Brabo. 

The company, which is part of the Tata Motors group, is exhibiting the robotic welding solution at the Automation Expo, currently taking place in Mumbai, India.

According to the Economic Times of India, the TAL Brabo robotic welding cell is priced at about $133,000 and is a “cost-effective” solution aimed at Tier 3 and 4 suppliers. Tata to launch first India-made industrial robot Brabo in May

TAL Manufacturing Solutions, a Tata Group company, is expected to launch first ever India-made robot before May 2017.

Dubbed “Tata Brabo”, the robot has been showcased at the recent Make in India week in Mumbai.

Brabo has been developed in-house by a team of six engineers whose average age is 24 years, led by Anil Bhingurde, chief operating officer of TAL Manufacturing Solutions.

Tata claims its AI system monitors hundreds of TV channels simultaneously in realtime

Tata Elxsi, a software division of the industrial giant Tata, says it has developed an integrated test automation and monitoring system which now incorporates artificial intelligence. 

The company adds that FalconEye 2.0 suite for test, workflow and monitoring automation now includes “a host of new and industry-first features”.

This includes a new artificial intelligence engine, focusing on improving the test coverage and optimizing stability testing scenarios.

Tata to launch first Indian-made robot Brabo

In what is described as a major push for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Make In India campaign, Tal Manufacturing Solutions, a Tata Group company, is all set to launch first India-made robot Tata Brabo in the next two months.

To be showcased for the first time at the ongoing Make in India Week in Mumbai, Tata Brabo has been developed in-house by a team of six engineers. On its official website, the company has also invited one and all to “join the robolution”.

Anil Bhingurde, chief operating officer of Tal Manufacturing Solutions led the group of six engineers whose average age is 24 years. In May last year, Bhingurde had made a presentation on the company’s robotic venture to Ravikant, the chairman, and to the board of the company.
