ABB has launched RoboMasters, a new app-based training tool offering unprecedented flexibility for learning the skills to program and operate ABB robots. Providing access to a wide range of ABB robot training courses delivered in modules, the app enables users of any level of experience to create their own learning paths at their own pace.

Plymouth State University receives $1 million funding for new robotics lab

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is sending $1 million in federal funding to Plymouth State University (PSU) to aid in the construction of a new robotics laboratory to be located on the fourth floor of the Draper & Maynard Building at the Plymouth campus.

In fall 2021, PSU became the first New Hampshire institution to offer a Bachelor of Science in Robotics degree program.

ABB survey reveals re-industrialization ‘at risk’ from global education gap in automation

A global ABB survey has revealed a growing trend in US and European businesses towards re-shoring or nearshoring operations to build resilience in the face of global challenges – but at the same time, a significant education gap in the skills necessary for these strategies to succeed.

Sami Atiya, president of ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation Business, says: “The world is constantly evolving – businesses are shifting existing structures and adopting new technologies to future-proof their operations for a variety of challenges and uncertainties, with robotic automation playing a key role.
