Blendid takes its robotic smoothie kiosks into athletic clubs with the Bay Club

Blendid, a robotic food service solutions leader, is expanding into the athletic club industry. The Bay Club Company, which operates 22 active lifestyle clubs along the West Coast, will open Blendid kiosks at two of its California locations this spring.

Kiwibot and Sodexo bring food delivery robots to Shenandoah University

Kiwibot, a robotic sidewalk delivery company, is now available at Shenandoah University to ensure an affordable on-campus food delivery service for students.

With 15 robots operating at Shenandoah University, students profit from speedy food delivery with zero carbon emissions, reducing the carbon footprint on campus.

Flexiv unveils robotic masseur

Flexiv, a provider of general-purpose robotics solutions, has developed a fully automatic massaging application for its Rizon 4 robot.

Powered by artificial intelligence, computer vision, and force feedback, the robot can provide a massage “equal to any human masseur”, boasts the company.

PickNik Robotics and Motiv to jointly develop of advanced robotics capabilities

PickNik Robotics, a developer of advanced robot arm software solutions, and Motiv Space Systems, a designer and manufacturer of space-rated robotic systems, motor controllers, and mechanisms, have agreed a partnership to develop advanced robotics for space applications.

The partnership aims to advance In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) capabilities through the integration of PickNik’s MoveIt Studio technology for robot arm control and Motiv’s xLink robot arm product line.

PickNik Robotics, known as the Unstructured Robotics Company, has a ten-year heritage in advanced robotics control software and has received SBIR Phase 3 funding from NASA to develop advanced planning capabilities for robots in microgravity environments. New Scale Robotics enhances its automated gauging system through robotic thread verification

Thread verification is the latest enhancement to New Scale Robotics’ Q-Span Automated Gauging System, a “do-it-yourself” robotic automation system for quality teams in high-mix, small-batch manufacturing.

The Q-Span Gauging System automates gauging processes by combining existing manual gauges with a collaborative robot, grippers for part handling, easy-to-use metrology and robot control software, and automated data collection.

Covariant raises $75 million in Series C funding

Covariant, an AI robotics company, has raised an additional $75 million in Series C funds, bringing its total funding to $222 million.

Returning investors Radical Ventures and Index Ventures co-led the round, which also saw additional funding from returning investors Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Amplify Partners.

ANYbotics to provide steelmaker Outokumpu with its canine inspection robot

Outokumpu, one of Europe’s largest producers of stainless steel, has signed a deal with ANYbotics, a supplier of four-legged robots.

Hengbot unveils ‘world’s first robotic dog with musculoskeletal limbs’

A startup company called Hengbot has unveiled what it claims is “the world’s first robotic dog with musculoskeletal limbs”.

Named “Sparky”, the canine robot is described as a “breakthrough innovation”, with Hengbot saying that its mission is to “blur the line between technology and life” by developing machines that are agile, nimble, and warm to the touch.

With its musculoskeletal limbs and advanced artificial intelligence, Sparky is a “groundbreaking innovation” that closely resembles a live animal.
