Promobot to ‘mass produce’ humanoid robots

Russian robotics company Promobot says it is launching “mass production of life-like robots that look like humans”.

Promobot is mainly known as a manufacturer of autonomous service robots and the new humanoid “Robo-C” is the first of its kind from the company.

Fanuc launches new food-grade delta robot

Industrial automation giant Fanuc has launched a new “food-grade” delta robot.

The company says its new DR-3iB “sets a new standard for robotic food handling in terms of payload, speed, reach and sanitation”.

Nachi-Fujikoshi having a big impact with its small robot

Nachi-Fujikoshi is having a big impact with its small robot since its launch at the start of this year, and is likely to beat its annual sales targets going forward.

Nachi says the new MZ01 Ultracompact Robot is the “world’s smallest vertically articulated robot with a payload of 1 kg”.

Hanwha demonstrates CNC machine tending using collaborative robot

Hanwha Robotics has demonstrated a CNC machine tending solution using its HCR-5 collaborative robot. 

The company says the demand for collaborative robot solutions is increasing because such solutions enable the operator to reduce waiting times during the process.

Madison College students win industrial robotics competition

Madison College students Schuyler Bostedt, Garrett Butler and Jonathan Stowell took first place in the Industrial Robotics Competition held during the Wisconsin Manufacturing and Technology Show October 8-10 in Milwaukee.

Bostedt, Butler and Stowell are enrolled in the Electromechanical Technology associate degree program.

Russians demonstrate robocop for security work

It’s probably not the best time for the Russians to be unveiling a “robocop”, what with all the paranoia about Russians meddling in previous US elections and influencing candidates for future ones, but that is what a Perm-based company called PromoBot has done, according to Daily Star. 

The authoritative news outlet, which mainly features pictures if buxom women on its home page, says the new Russian robotic cop will be used for fingerprinting and background checks.

Campaign to Stop Killer Robots sends peace envoy robot to United Nations

The Campaign to Stop Killer Robots – an actual political and social group run mostly by humans – has sent a peace envoy robot to deliver a letter to the United Nations building in New York, in the US.

According to the Guardian newspaper, the campaign group will give UN diplomats a letter in which it is demanding that the world stops the development of autonomous war machines.

These can include, but are not limited to, technologies such as drones, tanks and other other machinery controlled by an autonomous computer which is running artificial intelligence systems that decide whether to kill people or not. ExRobotics and Yokogawa to develop robotics for inspection of hazardous environments

ExRobotics and Yokogawa Electric have signed a licensing agreement that will enable Yokogawa to sell and deploy ExRobotics’ inspection robot hardware and software platforms worldwide.

ExRobotics is a Netherlands-based developer of robotics technology for hazardous environments, and Yokogawa Electric Corporation is a global provider of industrial automation, control, and measurement technology.

ExRobotics was established in 2017 to commercialise robotics technology for use in the potentially explosive atmospheres found at oil and gas production and processing facilities, which are often in remote locations with harsh environments.
