Attabotics introduces new robot to ‘increase warehouse efficiency’

Attabotics, which describes itself as “the world’s first 3D robotics supply chain system for modern commerce”, has unveiled its Attabot 2022, the first commercialized version of its proprietary robot.

Built stronger and smarter than its predecessor, the Attabot 2022 boasts a simplified mechatronic design that reduces operational costs while increasing the efficiency of automated picking and packing of goods.

Beginning customer operations in August 2022, the Attabot 2022 is equipped with a flexible payload to accommodate larger bins up to 16” tall at 100 lb – an increase of 25 percent from Attabotics’ previous robot release. Formic supplies 58-year-old family-run factory Compact Industries with its first robotic system

Formic, a supplier of automation technology on a pay-as-you-go basis, has supplied 58-year-old family-run factory Compact Industries with its first robotic system.

Located in St Charles, Illinois, Compact faced challenges of a shrinking labor pool, high worker turnover, and supply and wage inflation; struggled to meet the increasing demands of the Fortune 500 companies it serves.

Logistics giant GEODIS orders 1,000 warehouse robots from Locus Robotics

GEODIS, a global transport and logistics provider, and Locus Robotics, a maker of autonomous mobile robots for fulfillment warehouses, have reached a new expansion agreement to install a total of 1,000 LocusBots at GEODIS’ worldwide warehouse locations over the next 24 months.

This represents one of the industry’s largest AMR deals to date.

Mitsubishi Electric to build new factory in India

Mitsubishi Electric says it will invest approximately 3.1 billion yen ($22.3 million) in its subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric India to establish a new factory in India.

Expected to start operations in December 2023, the new factory will manufacture inverters and other factory automation control system products, expanding the company’s capabilities to meet the growing demand in India.

The rapidly growing Indian market is expanding at an annual rate of about 8% mainly in industries such as automobiles, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, data centers, and textiles, with further market expansion expected in the future. Blendid and Jamba find new customer for their robot-made smoothies

Blendid, a maker of a robotic machine that makes food, and Jamba, a provider of fruit and vegetable smoothies, are planning to expand their “Jamba by Blendid” autonomous robotic kiosk locations to Love’s Travel Stops, building on the system’s initial deployments in retail locations and college campuses.

The first Jamba by Blendid kiosk piloted at a Love’s Travel Stop will open this summer in Williams, California, just outside of Sacramento, marking a strategic expansion into rest area locations to meet the increasing demand for nutritious quick-serve options for commuters, travelers and professional truck drivers across the United States.

With more than 590 locations in 41 states, Love’s Travel Stops provides professional drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, compressed natural gas, travel items, electronics, snacks, restaurant offerings, and more from coast to coast. GXO partners with 6 River Systems for supply of warehouse robots

GXO Logistics, one of the world’s largest contract logistics providers, has reached a multi-year global agreement with 6 River Systems, a robotic fulfillment solutions provider, to meet the demand for collaborative mobile robots – also known as autonomous mobile robots – in its logistics operations across the US and Europe.

Eyewear retailer brings in robot from Osaro to keep up with e-commerce orders

Osaro, a developer of advanced robotics for e-commerce, has partnered with Zenni, an online eyewear retailer, to automate the “last meter” of Zenni’s fulfillment center in Novato, California.

Three Osaro Robotic Bagging Systems will take on the responsibility of readying eyewear orders for shipment to US customers.

The implementation is also an industry first. This is the first time a robot will be assigned the responsibility of working with an automated mechanical bagging system to ensure a customer’s unique order is placed into the correct bag for shipment. Radial expands relationship with Locus Robotics

Locus Robotics, a manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots for fulfillment warehouses, has expanded its partnership with Radial, a bpost group company, an e-commerce fulfillment specialist.

Under the agreement, Locus AMRs will be utilized at the fulfillment center in Romeoville, Illinois.

RightHand Robotics adds Vanderlande to partner integrator network

RightHand Robotics, a developer of autonomous robotic picking solutions for order fulfillment, says Vanderlande, a provider of logistic process automation in the warehousing, airports, and parcel sectors, has partnered to deploy piece-picking robots to meet the demands of general merchandise warehouses and distribution centers on a global scale.

In doing so, Vanderlande has added the RightHand Robotics award-winning RightPick item handling system to its Smart Item Robotics (SIR) portfolio of technologies, following the company’s strategy to accelerate the use of robotics in warehousing.
