Noah Medical receives FDA clearance for its robotic surgery system

March 7, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Medical robotics innovator Noah Medical has received FDA clearance for its Galaxy System. The Galaxy System and its accessories are intended to provide bronchoscopic visualization of and access to patient airways for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

The majority of potentially cancerous lesions are located in the outer third of the lung, which is more difficult for doctors to reach for biopsy. Current technologies are limited in their ability to both reach and then precisely target these suspect lesions.

The Galaxy System’s advanced imaging technologies provide real-time location updates, and are designed to improve tool-in-lesion and diagnostic yield. [Read more…] about Noah Medical receives FDA clearance for its robotic surgery system

ABB robots help tackle Covid by automating testing, research and diagnostics

February 6, 2023 by Mark Allinson

ABB Robotics has developed an automated neutralizing antibody testing system with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) that is the most effective means of determining an individual’s immunity to various strains of Covid.

Developed by ABB Robotics, Life Sciences and Healthcare Lab, located at the Texas Medical Center Campus in Houston, Texas, the system dramatically increases the number of neutralizing antibody tests performed, from 15 to over 1,000 daily.

With a greater number of people assessed for immunity against the different strains of the Covid virus, automating the testing will help UTMB researchers gain a greater understanding of the effectiveness of Covid vaccines. Medical Microinstruments introduces even smaller robotic instruments for complex ‘supermicrosurgery’

October 9, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Medical Microinstruments, a robotics company developing devices for microsurgery, has launched its new Supermicro NanoWrist instruments for use with the Symani Surgical System, developed specifically to address the challenges of microsurgery.

The new supermicro needle holder and dilator were recently used in clinical procedures in Zürich, Florence, and Salzburg, with successful patient outcomes.

Simon Enzinger, MD, DDS, surgeon at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Hospital Salzburg, used the new instruments on a procedure called a partial glossectomy, where he raised a lateral arm free flap to replace a large section of a patient’s tongue which required removal due to cancer. Coverage, Exclusions and Benefits of Mediclaim Policy for Family

September 13, 2022 by Mark Allinson

A sort of insurance coverage known as mediclaim insurance is created expressly to pay for the policyholder’s medical costs. The insurer reimburses your expenses when medical bills are reported to the insurance company under a mediclaim policy.

Mediclaim plans additionally provide cashless treatment insurance in the event that a person lacks the financial means to pay for medical expenses. The policyholder of a cashless treatment plan need not worry about bill payments because the insurance provider would cover the hospital expenses immediately.

But your family’s safety and well-being are equally crucial to you. A mediclaim policy for family protects every member of your family from unforeseen medical expenses and gives them access to top-notch medical care in the event of a medical emergency.
