Infineon has been busy welcoming new converts to its chip and systems technologies, with two new deals done in recent days.

In one deal, EScrypt and GlobalSign have decided to join the Infineon Partner Network to develop smart factory solutions.

In the other, Infineon has reached a partnership agreement with Moncana on its “Security of Things” platform.  [Read more…] about Industrial internet: Infineon wins new converts to its IoT and smart factory solutions

Infineon Technologies predicts that by the end of 2016, more than half of all new automotive 77-GHz radar systems worldwide will be equipped with chips from the company.

Statistically speaking, that means around one in 15 new cars will use a driver assistance system with 77-GHz radar chips from Infineon.

Given these figures, Infineon claims “market leadership… in the rapidly growing market for radar chips for driver assistance systems”. [Read more…] about ‘One in every 15 cars uses our chips,’ boasts Infineon

Lenovo is the first manufacturer worldwide to bring Tango technology to a consumer product.

Google’s technology that allows devices to understand spatial information is an exclusive feature in the Phab2 Pro smartphone.

Based on the Time-of-Flight principle, the Real3 image sensor chip from Infineon Technologies equips the smartphone with a 3-dimensional perception of the surroundings in real-time.

Infineon provides the only image sensor chip in the world meeting Google’s specifications.  [Read more…] about New Infineon chip enables Lenovo to build world’s smallest 3D camera, bringing augmented reality to smartphones

Infineon has developed radar technology for cars and devices. The company has reached separate agreements with Google and Imec on applications for the technology.

With Google, Infineon has developed gesture control technology, which would allow users to control their devices by waving their arms about, and more subtle movements.

The radar technology – called “Soli” – was demonstrated at Google I/O through a smartwatch and a wireless speaker.  [Read more…] about Infineon develops breakthrough radar technology for cars and devices

Dark matter is the mysterious and elusive target for the world’s scientists now

Ninety-five percent of the universe is still considered unexplored. Scientists at CERN, the world’s largest particle physics research center, located in Geneva, are working on solving these mysteries.

In May 2012, researchers there discovered the so-called Higgs Boson, whose prediction won Peter Higgs and François Englert the Nobel prize in physics.

One of the things CERN scientists are researching at the moment is dark matter: Although it may well have five times the mass of visible matter in the universe, this extent can only be indirectly proved. With a bit of luck, CERN will also succeed in generating dark matter.  [Read more…] about Infineon supplies CERN with sensors to detect dark matter

Infineon signs deal with TTTech to speed up development in autonomous driving

March 7, 2016 by Abdul Montaqim

tttech

Infineon has reached an agreement with TTTech on the joint development of autonomous vehicle technologies.

Under the guidance of Audi, TTTech developed a central platform control unit, “zFAS”, integrating various functionalities of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The ECU also enables comprehensive fusion of sensor data. Microcontrollers from Infineon Technologies safeguard that highest requirements towards computing performance and safety are met.  [Read more…] about Infineon signs deal with TTTech to speed up development in autonomous driving
