ABB’s GoFa cobot has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Best of the Best design award in recognition of its unique design concept to make the new robot appealing and accessible to users.

The global Red Dot Design Awards recognize achievements in product design, with the jury assessing thousands of entries every year.

Outbound Technologies acquired by Vinci Energies

Mergers and acquisitions services provider NuVescor Group has successfully completed the sale of Outbound Technologies to Vinci Energies.

Outbound Technologies – an industrial controls company with headquarters in New Hudson, Michigan, and offices also in Indiana and Ohio – provides project management, controls integration and engineering services for clients in a wide variety of industries.

Vinci Energies is a global firm that focuses on connections, performance, energy efficiency and data to fast-track the rollout of new technologies and support two major changes: digital transformation and the energy transition. Veo Robotics gains ISO safety certification for FreeMove system

Veo Robotics, a company that develops systems for industrial automation, says its flagship product FreeMove has received safety certification from TÜV Rheinland for its industrial robot safeguarding system – making it a “first-of-its-kind solution for human-robot collaboration”.

Veo says FreeMove is the only solution on the market today that implements dynamic, 3D speed and separation monitoring and has been certified for compliance with ISO 13849 for PLd, Category 3. Sherpa Mobile Robotics installs fleet of AMRs for line-side automation at FPT Industrial

Sherpa Mobile Robotics is providing further details of their first installation with fleet management.

For a several weeks now, six Sherpa-B autonomous mobile robots have been co-working in total safety in the midst of humans, automated guided vehicles, forklifts and other industrial machines at FPT Industrial.

IDS unveils camera-based cap control with AI for beverage and bottle industry

Reliably detecting cracks and micro-cracks on plastic caps in 40 different colours and shades running at high speed on a production line is a real challenge.

APREX Solutions from Nancy, France has successfully achieved this goal with the help of image processing technology and artificial intelligence.

ANYmal robot being put to work inspecting BASF facility

Robot maker ANYbotics has unveiled its collaboration with BASF, one of the largest global chemical manufacturers, which involves the use of the ANYmal robot for inspections at Ludwigshafen, Germany. (See video below.) 

The two companies say the collaboration “displays the efficiency, quality, and scalability of robotic inspection and data-collection capabilities in complex industrial environments”.

On production floors, robotics and manufacturing have gone hand-in-hand for decades. But on industrial plants, repetitive inspections, environment mapping, and efficiency analytics have mostly relied on manual work. Yaskawa Motoman has sold 500,000 industrial robots

Yaskawa Motoman, one of the world’s largest industrial automation companies, has sold 500,000 industrial robots.

The company says cumulative shipments of Motoman Yaskawa’s industrial robots reach 500,000 units last month – February 2021.
