Noah Medical unveils first trials of its Galaxy robotic surgical system in human patients

March 15, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Medical robotics innovator Noah Medical has unveiled its ongoing trial at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

The Frontier study is a first-in-human trial focused on the safety and feasibility of the Galaxy System, which is designed to improve location accuracy and successful diagnosis of lung nodules using its proprietary TiLT+ Technology.

The study is enrolling a small cohort of patients with the goal of successfully navigating to and biopsying peripheral lung nodules. The Galaxy System’s unique navigation capabilities were created to enable improved diagnosis and quicker time to treatment. Noah Medical receives FDA clearance for its robotic surgery system

March 7, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Medical robotics innovator Noah Medical has received FDA clearance for its Galaxy System. The Galaxy System and its accessories are intended to provide bronchoscopic visualization of and access to patient airways for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

The majority of potentially cancerous lesions are located in the outer third of the lung, which is more difficult for doctors to reach for biopsy. Current technologies are limited in their ability to both reach and then precisely target these suspect lesions.

The Galaxy System’s advanced imaging technologies provide real-time location updates, and are designed to improve tool-in-lesion and diagnostic yield. [Read more…] about Noah Medical receives FDA clearance for its robotic surgery system

How to Improve Employee Experience Management

February 19, 2023 by Mark Allinson

EEM (Employee Experience Management) is a big warm hug for your employees.

From onboarding to career development, it covers everything that makes your team feel appreciated and motivated. Unfortunately, many organizations need help to implement effective EEM strategies, leading to unhappy employees and high turnover rates.

Across the globe, just 64 percent of employees from various industries would recommend their workplace to friends and families. This shows how improving the employee experience of your organization is critical. [Read more…] about How to Improve Employee Experience Management

Massage robot to start product evaluation in the US and clinical trial in Singapore

February 14, 2023 by Mai Tao

Singapore robotics firm AiTreat will be embarking on a new product evaluation in the United States for their massage robot powered by artificial intelligence at Mayo Clinic, USA.

At the same time, a randomised controlled trial (RCT) comparing the efficacy of the massage robot with existing therapies such as manual Tuina – a massage used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) – in managing chronic low back pain is also being planned in Singapore.

The RCT will be jointly led by the biomedical sciences and Chinese medicine programme at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH). [Read more…] about Massage robot to start product evaluation in the US and clinical trial in Singapore

Brain Corp partners with Google Cloud to introduce analytics solution for retailers

January 20, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Brain Corp, an artificial intelligence company creating technologies in robotics, is partnering with Google Cloud to launch “BrainOS Inventory Insights”, a new and proprietary solution able to deliver next generation in-store inventory analytics to retailers.

Brain Corp, which already powers the largest global fleet of autonomous robots in public spaces and the world’s largest fleet of robotic inventory scanners, will now offer retail customers “a true end-to-end solution” for analyzing the inventory data collected by its BrainOS powered inventory scanning robots.

Using BrainOS Inventory Insights, retailers will be able to quickly identify out-of-stock and low stock events, assess product details such as where an item is (product location), if it’s in the correct location (planogram compliance) and ensure it’s priced correctly (price tag compliance). Sarcos Robotics and Changi Airport test outdoor robotic baggage handling system

December 8, 2022 by Mai Tao

Sarcos Technology and Robotics, a manufacturer of advanced robotic systems, and Changi Airport has completed a demonstration of a jointly developed outdoor-based autonomous baggage loading system prototype.

In collaboration with CAG, Sarcos is developing an outdoor-based baggage loading system to automate the loading and unloading of loose passenger bags from narrow-bodied aircraft.

The inaugural field demonstrations were conducted during September 2022 at Singapore Changi Airport and validated the opportunity for robotics to reduce the risk of on-the-job injuries from baggage handling and augment the ground handling labor force. Foundry workers given ‘robotic’ glove to improve grip and protect hands

October 28, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Waupaca Foundry is using an innovative adaptive technology to support workers who manually grind iron castings in the foundry. The “Ironhand” glove is claimed to be the world’s first soft exoskeleton designed for the human hand to improve grip strength and reduce effort.

The system was tested at the iron casting supplier’s Etowah, Tennessee casting finishing plant and is currently in trials at the Marinette, Wisconsin ductile iron foundry.

The system consists of a glove covering all five fingers, and a power pack worn in a backpack or hip-carry. It is activated when the operator starts moving his/her hand to perform a task, using sensors located on the palm and on the fingers.
