Fizyr, Cognibotics and Zivid claim ‘world’s fastest automated bin picking solution’

April 11, 2025 by Mark Allinson

Fizyr, a provider of vision AI, Cognibotics, a robotics technology developer, and Zivid, a specialist in industrial 3D cameras, have partnered to unveil the world’s fastest automated bin picking solution.

The Cognibotics HKM1800, with the market’s longest reach and fastest bin-to-bin pick and place capabilities, is supported by Zivid’s 2+R-series 3D camera and Fizyr Panoptic, Fizyr’s advanced vision software, to identify and process products, pick priority, grasp position and place verification.

Ken Fleming, CEO of Fizyr, says: “For years, logistics and automation professionals have been working on solutions to tame the chaos and improve throughput speeds of item intake in highly dynamic environments. By combining three best-of-breed components into one solution, we have delivered unprecedented speed and accuracy.” [Read more…] about Fizyr, Cognibotics and Zivid claim ‘world’s fastest automated bin picking solution’

Celera Motion launches ‘world’s smallest, fastest servo drive’

October 27, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Celera Motion, a business unit of Novanta, has launched what it says is “the world’s smallest and fastest servo drive”.

The new Everest S, the latest addition to the popular Everest Series, is about 30 percent smaller than its predecessor, making it the world’s smallest servo drive. It’s also the fastest: The EtherCAT and CANopen versions deliver bus latency reduced to 1 cycle, making Everest S the fastest servo drive on the market today.

The Everest S includes all the best features of other Everest servo drives – plus it now also includes Dual BiSS-C feedback support, a highly sought-after feature. [Read more…] about Celera Motion launches ‘world’s smallest, fastest servo drive’

VPN Speed Test: What’s the Fastest VPN of 2022?

August 1, 2022 by Mark Allinson

If you’ve ever used a VPN, you may be familiar with the unfortunate side effect of a slower internet speed. This can be extremely frustrating.

You might’ve installed a VPN to protect your data while you browse the internet, improve your IP security or to unlock streaming capabilities in different countries. Either way, a slow internet speed certainly isn’t what you signed up for.

The good news is that not all VPNs are created equal; some are inherently faster than others. Which ones, you ask? Let’s take a look at which provider offers the fastest VPN of 2022, based on three critical success factors: upload speeds, download speed and latency. ABB launches new, ‘fastest’ five-axis Delta robot

July 28, 2022 by David Edwards

ABB has launched a new five-axis Delta robot which it claims is “the fastest for lightweight product picking, packing and reorientation”.

The new machine is part of the FlexPicker Delta robot portfolio and is called the IRB 365. With five axis and 1.5 kg payload, the IRB 365 is both flexible and the fastest in its class for reorienting packaged lightweight products such as cookies, chocolates, peppers, candies, small bottles, and parcels.

Responding to the rise in e-commerce and growing demand for shelf ready packaged goods, the IRB 365 has been developed for applications including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods, where production line speed and adaptability are essential. Fujitsu to use ‘world’s fastest supercomputer’ for tsunami prediction

February 23, 2021 by Mai Tao

Fujitsu, in partnership with other companies and academic institutions, has developed a computing system that will enable the prediction of tsunamis – massive, sudden floods caused by turbulence at sea.

The International Research Institute of Disaster Science at Tohoku University, the Earthquake Research Institute at the University of Tokyo, and Fujitsu Laboratories have developed an artificial intelligence model that will empower disaster management teams with the ability to predict tsunami flooding in coastal areas in near real-time.

The system harnessed the computational power of what is claimed to be “the world’s fastest supercomputer”, Fugaku, jointly developed by Riken and Fujitsu. [Read more…] about Fujitsu to use ‘world’s fastest supercomputer’ for tsunami prediction
