Mitsubishi Electric to release CC-Link IE TSN compatible factory automation products

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will release what it claims are the industry’s first 102 factory automation products that are compatible with the CC-Link IE TSN2 next-generation industrial open network, starting in May.

The products include programmable controllers, servo amplifiers, robots, GOTs (HMIs), inverters and CNCs.

Integration of machine control and information communication required for next-generation smart factories will be realised on one network, further enhancing Mitsubishi Electric’s e-F@ctory integrated factory automation solution.

Mitsubishi Electric sets up Factory Automation Service Centre in Coimbatore, India

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will establish an India Coimbatore FA Centre in Coimbatore, in India’s Tamil Nadu State.

Scheduled to commence operations from February 1, the new facility will further strengthen the service network of the company’s factory automation (FA) products in India and facilitate expansion of its FA system business.

Located in the south of the country, Coimbatore is one of India’s major industrial centres, hosting companies active in the textile, automotive parts and IT sectors, all areas where demand for FA products and their related services is expected to increase.

Mitsubishi Electric to launch CC-Link IE TSN compatible factory automation products

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has announced that it will launch factory automation products that are compatible with CC-Link IE TSN, the world’s first industrial open network to use time sensitive networking (TSN)* technology.

Products include programmable controllers, industrial PCs, servo amplifiers, GOT human-machine interfaces, inverters, and robots.

CC-Link IE TSN supports TSN technology, which ensures real-time control communication on the manufacturing communications layer, even when integrated with the upper level IT system and mixed with other open networks.

AGCO modernises Brazilian agricultural machinery factory

AGCO, a agricultural machinery firm, has allocated R$ 60 million for the modernisation and application of new technologies at the company’s plant in Santa Rosa (RS), Brazil, which is responsible for the production of harvesters, combines and headers of Massey Ferguson, Valtra and Challenger brands.

The investment plan began in 2016 and integrates the company’s strategy of preparing the plant for the launch of products with high on-board technology.

Among the improvements made in the plant is Dyno, a new system that simulates the quality level of combines in operation in the field, before they are delivered to the farmer.

Denso takes a stake in Tohoku Pioneer EG

Denso Corporation has agreed to take a stake in Tohoku Pioneer EG Corporation, which is involved in the factory automation business and is owned by Tohoku Pioneer Corporation, a consolidated subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation.

The company highlights that manufacturing industry is at a turning point due to the shrinking workforce and ageing population, with various initiatives being taken to promote industrial change, such as Connected Industries in Japan and Industrie 4.0 in Germany.

Against this backdrop, Denso set the goal of developing optimal solutions for factory automation systems in its Long-term Plan 2025 formulated in 2017.

The global market for factory automation is predicted to grow $368 billion by 2025.

This is according to a new report published by Allied Market Research, titled Factory Automation Market by Control and Safety System, Component, and Industry Verticals: Global Opportunity Analysis and Industry Forecast, 2017-2025.

Self-driving cars sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the automobile industry, presenting an exciting new opportunity for transport.

Sony launches the third generation of its image sensors

Sony Semiconductor Solutions has launched its third generation image sensors, IMX421 and IMX422, for “high-speed automation”.

Framos, a supplier of the technology, says the Sony Semiconductor Solutions feature its high-performance third generation CMOS Global Shutter with the brand-new IMX421 and IMX422 image sensors.

Cognex launches new real-time monitoring system for factory automation

Cognex, a provider of machine vision and industrial barcode reading, has released a new monitoring system for factory automation.

Cognex Explorer Real Time Monitoring aggregates and reports trends in data captured by DataMan barcode readers and provides instant facility-wide feedback to identify process errors, minimize no-reads, and maximize throughput, says the company.
