Drilling company Nabors fully automates existing land rig with first-of-its-kind robotics module

November 18, 2022 by Mark Allinson

Nabors Industries has launched its Canrig Red Zone Robotics (RZR) Rig Floor Module, a modular rig upgrade that automates routine drilling activities.

Nabors retrofitted an existing rig – X29 – with RZR (pronounced razor) and has successfully drilled multiple horizontal wells for ExxonMobil in the Permian Basin.

In 2021, Nabors and ExxonMobil proved fully automated land drilling is possible with Nabors’ newbuild R801 robotic drilling rig. Now, the companies have advanced to the next phase of their collaboration to validate the use of modular rig retrofits as a viable path to scale drilling rig automation. 5 Top Jobs Where Robots Could Replace Humans?

April 4, 2022 by David Edwards

The thought of becoming capable of replacing a human with a computer and robot is appealing to organisations trying to save money.

A robot can labor without salary and benefits you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is often quicker and makes fewer mistakes than a human.

Employees can benefit from robots since they can effortlessly perform repetitive, tedious, or risky tasks while people focus on more exciting tasks. Robots have made enormous advancements in their efficiency and capacities in recent years, and they have begun to replace more human occupations.

As you know, China is the most rapid country in technology so they mostly use robots instead of human employees. So, for your convenience, you can easily import robots or computers from China and track your shipment through 4px tracking. [Read more…] about 5 Top Jobs Where Robots Could Replace Humans?

Drilling Deep Holes: Things to Keep In Mind

December 30, 2021 by Mark Allinson

Drilling deep holes is a complicated process. Unless you know the right methods, chances are, you will fail. Read this article to learn more.

Drilling is a cutting method in which a drill is used to make a deep circular hole in the ground or solid materials. When it comes to drilling deep holes, the process can get complicated as it involves precision and expertise.

However, the definitions of drilling are not absolute anymore. The question has changed from how deep the hole is to how to reach greater depths with newer, more advanced, machinery. [Read more…] about Drilling Deep Holes: Things to Keep In Mind

MineWare brings artificial intelligence to drilling holes in the ground

August 26, 2020 by David Edwards

Mining equipment monitoring and automation solutions provider MineWare has developed the mining industry’s first AI-based drill automation platform, Phoenix AI, to optimize aftermarket blasthole drill operations.

Phoenix AI product manager Curtis Stacy says the intuitive, interoperable platform features an advanced layer of AI to mitigate common drilling faults and improve performance.

“Compatible with all blasthole drill makes and models, Phoenix AI is an independent system that allows machine operators to automate their entire drill cycle at the push of a single button, without compromising the OEM control system,” he says. Boeing ‘abandons’ robots in favour of humans

December 12, 2019 by Sam Francis

Boeing has reportedly abandoned the use of some robotic systems that were being used for fuselage work such as drilling and fastening.

According to the Seattle Times, the implementation of the robots “proved painful to set up and (was) error-prone”.

The news website quoted Jason Clark, Boeing vice president of 777/777X operations, who said back in 2015, when the robots were first introduced: “It’s a little tough in the teething. But as we get through it, it will create the rewards necessary for us to compete.” [Read more…] about Boeing ‘abandons’ robots in favour of humans
