Europalco buys two robots from Kuka to add ‘wow factor’ to shows

March 29, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Europalco, a Portuguese company which claims to be “the largest provider of solutions for events and shows in Southern Europe”, has recently invested in two Kuka robots to “create differentiating events with a new ‘wow factor’” for its clients.

Europalco plans to use the Kuka KR210 robots in many ways, with LED walls, LCD, lasers, and even artists or people assisting the events. The robots can hold, move, or animate monitors or video screens. They can also be used to produce props and mobile stage designs. The range of applications is limitless.

The Kuka KR210 are fast, dynamic, and flexible to bring splendid effects to the stage and the event. Engineers can leverage the flexibility of robots to create fascinating static stage sets for performance. [Read more…] about Europalco buys two robots from Kuka to add ‘wow factor’ to shows

AutomationWare prepares for future with new robotic joints

March 24, 2023 by Mark Allinson

AutomationWare says it is “looking forward” to the rest of 2023 with the new version of its robotic joints (actuators) in J and T versions and UNI EN ISO 9001 certification for the design and production of systems for automation and industrial robotics.

The era of modular and scalable robotics based on AutomationWare’s J&T actuators begins and Robotics becomes Lego
Innovating the world of high-performance actuators.

AutomationWare has chosen a personal approach to the world of robots, producing high-tech actuators, which it uses both to produce robotic solutions itself (especially collaborative arms with special configurations, sizes and payloads) and to meet the demands of customers oriented towards tailor-made, in-house robotic solutions with degrees of freedom necessary for their application. Carbon Robotics adds LaserThinning capability to its LaserWeeder

February 13, 2023 by David Edwards

Carbon Robotics, an AI and robotics company specializing in agriculture, has introduced what it says is “the industry’s first LaserThinning capability”, continuing the “rapid innovation” of its LaserWeeder system.

LaserThinning targets areas where vegetable crops are purposefully overseeded and then thinned for optimal crop spacing, growth and yield. This is particularly valuable for farmers growing any direct seeded leafy green and cole crops – such as lettuce and broccoli.

By using lasers for thinning, the new solution does not require the use of any chemicals or manual hand labor, is unaffected by wind or moisture, and can be performed during the day or night. [Read more…] about Carbon Robotics adds LaserThinning capability to its LaserWeeder

Flexiv to release ‘revolutionary’ robotic gripper

February 10, 2023 by Mai Tao

Flexiv, a builder of general-purpose robotics solutions, is set to release a revolutionary new robotic gripper.

Featuring industrial-grade force control and an adhesive material based on a gecko’s foot pad, the Grav gripper can lift practically any item that fits within its grasp.

Touted as representing the next generation of robotic grippers, it uses impactive and contigutive grasping techniques for maximum handling flexibility. This makes it possible to lift objects which are oddly shaped or have an uneven surface texture. [Read more…] about Flexiv to release ‘revolutionary’ robotic gripper
