Implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) In Nonprofits Organizations: Benefits And Challenges

October 26, 2023 by David Edwards

Robotic process automation, RPA in short, refers to technological software and systems that help improve productivity and make work easier by mimicking human activities and automatically performing repetitive tasks.

These software are compatible with other platforms such as websites, various applications, and databases, which allows them to perform different tasks such as data entry and filling forms with accuracy and efficiency.

This article explores the fascinating world of RPA and its implementation in the non-profit sector, delving into its benefits and challenges. [Read more…] about Implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) In Nonprofits Organizations: Benefits And Challenges

Robots a tenth the size of a human blood cell: Welcome to the world of nanobots

October 24, 2023 by David Edwards

In this article, Chu Canh Chieu, managing director of global healthcare center at FPT Software, explains more about nanobots that hunt and kill diseases

Nanobots, miniature robots 10 times smaller than a blood cell, are poised to revolutionise the healthcare industry. Nanotechnology, in combination with next-generation software platforms and supervised machine learning, provide a wide range of powerful diagnostic, monitoring and treatment tools.

Designed to carry out a very specific task, a nanobot, also known as nanorobots, can hunt for cells with identifiable characteristics; carry a payload of medicine for delivery to a specific place in the body and take a camera through a particular route to organs.

With delivery options including an oral pill and injection, nanobots can be guided and accurately targeted while remaining minimally invasive and avoiding collateral damage, such as occurs with treatments like chemotherapy. Why is Sea Moss So Popular Among Successful Entrepreneurs?

October 24, 2023 by Mark Allinson

One of the key things that differentiates successful individuals and other people is the potential for self-development. Entrepreneurs make time to support their health, keep fit, and be intellectually mature.

What successful person could imagine their life without healthy eating and supplements? Among the famous Magnesium that beats stress and Omega that keeps your mind agile, Irish sea moss also appeared incredibly popular for its load of game-changing benefits.

This article explains how a sea moss supplement found itself in the entrepreneur’s shopping list and how it can change your life as well. [Read more…] about Why is Sea Moss So Popular Among Successful Entrepreneurs?

How to Reduce Chatter in Robotic Milling Applications

October 23, 2023 by David Edwards

Have you optimized the performance of your robotic arm as it performs milling operations? Machining with articulated robot arms is an attractive alternative to machine tools because they offer ease of set-up, repeatability, a large workspace, and versatility.

However, machine tools are as much as 50 times stiffer than robotic arms. This lack of stiffness in robots makes it challenging to produce the desired performance. Minimizing chatter is a frequent concern and should not be overlooked to ensure the right results the first time.

In this article, we explore some best practices for reducing chatter with a focus on the spindle and tooling. [Read more…] about How to Reduce Chatter in Robotic Milling Applications

Fugro SpAARC’s space operations set to grow with further funding

October 23, 2023 by David Edwards

Fugro’s Space Automation, AI and Robotics Control Complex (SpAARC) in Perth, Western Australia (WA), is to receive an additional AUD 5 million (just under $3.2 million US) in funding from the WA Government.

Roger Cook, the WA Premier, made the announcement at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth on the morning of the opening of IPSEC 2023, Perth’s Indo-Pacific Space and Earth Conference for leaders in space and cross-sector technologies.

This additional funding cements Fugro SpAARC’s position as an international hub for space activities and will boost both WA’s and Fugro’s capacity for space mission operations. [Read more…] about Fugro SpAARC’s space operations set to grow with further funding

PaintJet launches new robotic painting solution for commercial buildings

October 21, 2023 by David Edwards

PaintJet, a developer of robotics for painting, has unveiled its latest innovation for the industrial painting industry: the Bravo robotic painter and Alpha Shield paint, a “full stack solution” to paint commercial buildings “faster, more precisely and with more protection for worsening climate impacts”.

PaintJet says every warehouse and commercial building “must be painted for protection against the environment”. This would create a $250 billion industry which, the company says, is primed for opportunity.

However, due to an ongoing labor shortage, the US currently lacks “the 100,000 painters that are needed to complete these jobs”, claims PaintJet, and 41 percent of this workforce is expected to retire by 2031. Amazon adds two new robots, including one humanoid, to the 750,000 already working in its warehouses

October 18, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Amazon has revealed that it now has over 750,000 robots working collaboratively with employees, taking on highly repetitive tasks and freeing employees up to “better deliver for our customers”.

With all of these efforts under way, Amazon has just launched a new robotic system in time to help fulfill customer orders for holiday shopping this year. Sequoia is the name of this new technology, and it’s now operating at one of the fulfillment centers in Houston, Texas.

By reimagining how the company stores and manages inventory at its sites, Sequoia will help Amazon delight customers with greater speed and increased accuracy for delivery estimates, while also improving employee safety at the company’s facilities.
