Diligent Robotics raises $25 million to commercialize its healthcare robots

Diligent Robotics, a specialist in robotic automation in health care, has raised $25 million in new financing led by Canaan, with True Ventures, DNX Ventures, Next Coast Ventures among the return investors and Northwestern Medicine Innovation joining as a new strategic investor.

Rich Boyle from Canaan will join the board of directors. The company will use the funds to fuel system-wide expansions of its revolutionary Moxi robot across hospitals nationwide, enhance product development and triple its market reach.

4ocean launches new drone to help keep the world’s coastlines clean

4ocean, a startup company which specialises in building robots to clean up the environment, has unveiled its latest machine – the Pixie Drone. (See video below.)

The Pixie Drone is designed to help keep coastlines free of plastic and other floating debris without disturbing marine life.

Ambi Robotics expands partnership with Pitney Bowes to automate middle-mile sorting

Ambi Robotics, a provider of AI-powered robotic sorting solutions for supply chain operations, and Pitney Bowes, a global shipping and mailing company, say they have successfully implemented the new AmbiSort B-Series modular parcel induction and sorting solution for middle-mile operations.

This collaboration between two industry leaders advances ecommerce and logistics operations through cutting-edge automation and emerging technologies.

Lomar and Alicia Bots partner to develop robotic system for cleaning ship hulls

Lomar, a ship-owning and management group, and Alicia Bots, a tech start-up developing robotics and mobility solutions for the maritime, offshore, oil and gas industries, are partnering to develop a robotic system for ship hull maintenance.

The companies say this effort both integrates cutting-edge robotic hull inspection and cleaning solutions into Lomar’s biofouling control practices as well as tests new use cases, marking a “significant leap forward” in the maritime industry’s pursuit of efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Lomar is to implement Alicia Bots’ robotic technology on up to 15 of its vessels. The autonomous hull cleaning technology provides a “viable reduction” in hull fouling, reducing fuel consumption, costs, and carbon emissions, says Lomar. Neura Robotics secures $16 million from InterAlpen Partners

Neura Robotics, an emerging AI and robotics startup based in Germany, has closed a $16 million investment round with American private equity firm InterAlpen Partners.

This comes less than three months after the German company closed a $55 million funding round with leading European investors, garnering recognition from the New York Stock Exchange. InterAlpen’s investment in Neura will bolster its growth and expansion into the US market.

Teleo launches autonomous technology for heavy construction equipment, reports orders for 42 machines already

Teleo, a company building autonomous technology for heavy construction equipment, says Florida-based Tomahawk Construction will become the first customer to deploy its autonomous capabilities on an active job site.

Tomahawk Construction’s articulated dump trucks will be able to use autonomous functions to move material to build a residential community in Naples, FL starting in December.

In addition, Teleo announced deals with eight new construction customers, including Florida-based Ajax Paving Industries of FL. Collectively, Teleo’s new customers have placed orders for 42 machines. IAR Group strengthens market position through acquisition of Sontec

IAR Group from Zofingen (Switzerland), which specializes in automation systems, is taking over Sontec AG from Hochdorf (Switzerland), which is active in the fields of automated testing technology, assembly automation, robotics and image processing, with immediate effect.

With this acquisition, the IAR Group strengthens its position in the global market for industrial automation and increases its production capacity in Switzerland.
