Simbe’s installs its shelf-scanning robot at 17 Harmons stores

Simbe, a provider of robots for retail inventory management, has announced the deployment of Tally, its autonomous shelf-scanning robot, across Harmons, Utah’s independent, locally owned and operated neighborhood grocer, to optimize inventory management and deliver a consistently exceptional customer experience.

Following a successful five-store rollout, Tally is now live across 17 of Harmons locations, bringing real-time shelf intelligence and automation in store.

AMD partners with Robotec to build ‘open ecosystem’ for autonomous systems and robotics

AMD Silo AI is collaborating with Robotec.ai, a developer of simulation platforms for robotics applications, to optimize and scale digital twin and scenario reconstruction workloads for next-generation automotive and robotics systems running on AMD Instinct GPUs with the ROCm software stack.

Aligned with Robotec.ai’s mission, AMD Silo AI is helping to build safe, human-friendly robotics through Robotec.ai’s open-source, AI-driven digital twin simulation tools.

Building on Robotec.ai’s work with AMD Kria SOM, this collaboration combines Robotec.ai’s flagship RoSi platform – an end-to-end tool for developing, training, and testing robotics and autonomous systems – with the scalable compute platforms of AMD. RealMan Robotics unveils RealBOT embodied open platform at IROS 2025

RealMan Robotics says it has made a “major breakthrough” with the debut of its RealBOT Embodied Open Platform at the recently concluded IEEE/RS International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2025).

The company successfully conducted a cross-regional teleoperation demonstration, linking Beijing and Hangzhou, 1,200 km apart, to showcase the real-time collaboration capabilities of embodied intelligent systems.

Through a dual-city setup connecting RealMan’s Beijing Humanoid Robotics Data Training Center and the IROS exhibition booth in Hangzhou, a RealMan trainer in Beijing remotely controlled humanoid robots at the booth to perform complex interactive tasks such as handing over a towel and passing fruit. World’s largest music company to release AI music from now on

Universal Music Group (UMG) – the world’s largest music company and whose catalogue includes Taylor Swift (main picture), ABBA, Bon Jovi, Frank Sinatra, Ariana Grande, and thousands of other world-famous and timeless artists – are set to create and release AI music from now. 

The company has teamed up with Udio, an AI-powered music creation platform, to announce “industry-first strategic agreements”, under which the companies settled copyright infringement litigation and will collaborate on an “innovative, new commercial music creation, consumption and streaming experience”.

In addition to the compensatory legal settlement, the new license agreements for recorded music and publishing will provide further revenue opportunities for UMG artists and songwriters.

Waabi and Volvo partner to ‘demonstrate the future of autonomous trucking’

Waabi, a developer of physical AI and driverless trucks, and Volvo Autonomous Solutions have reached a “major milestone” in autonomous trucking by successfully integrating the Waabi Driver with the Volvo VNL Autonomous.

This joint achievement underscores the significant progress both companies are making together in advancing autonomous freight.

Micropolis Robotics partners with Aerxio to expand into Egypt and North Africa

Micropolis Robotics, a pioneer in unmanned ground vehicles and AI-driven robotics solutions, has announced a major step in its international expansion strategy through an exclusive distribution agreement with Aerxio.

Aerxio, a UAE-based technology provider, will serve as the sole distributor of Micropolis’ advanced unmanned ground security vehicles and related technologies across Egypt and North Africa.

The agreement provides Aerxio exclusive rights to market Micropolis’s “The Patrol” platform. This autonomous unit is designed for both open-road and desert environments, with operational speeds of up to 50 km/h, a 15-hour runtime, rapid charging, and the integration of Microspot AI software. Global robotics market set to more than double to ‘$205.5 billion by 2030’

The global robotics industry is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 percent from $90.2 billion in 2024 to $205.5 billion in 2030, according to GlobalData, a data and analytics company.

One of the key reasons for this growth is that the robotics industry offers a “variety of applications” for a wide range of industries.

Mitsubishi testing vehicle transport robots at Nakagusuku Port in Okinawa

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machinery Systems (MHI-MS), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, will conduct demonstration testing of finished vehicle logistics (FVL) using vehicle transport robots to autonomously move automobiles.

Following a proposal adopted for “Testbed Support Subsidy Program” conducted by Okinawa Prefecture, demonstration testing is scheduled to begin on December 1 this year at the prefecture’s temporary vehicle storage yard (motor pool) at Nakagusuku Port (Uruma, Okinawa Prefecture).

Tethys Robotics secures €3.5 million in pre-seed funding to automate hazardous underwater operations

Swiss startup Tethys Robotics, a spin-out from ETH Zurich and now a leader in underwater robotics, has announced the successful closing of a €3.5 million pre-seed financing round.

The round was led by Redstone with Euregio+ & Alpine VC, and backed by Zürcher Kantonalbank, ETH Foundation, Kickfund, and Venture Kick.
