Glencore improves recycling plant safety with ELOKON automated forklift system

June 19, 2024 by David Edwards

Glencore, a commodity trading and mining giant, says it has reduced safety incidents involving forklifts at its recycling facility in Rhode Island with the use of the ELOshield proximity detection system from ELOKON, a provider of automated forklift safety and fleet management systems.

In a new case study, announced on National Forklift Safety Day, Glencore discusses how it chose ELOshield to retrofit its forklifts due to the system’s advanced warning capabilities, especially in areas with limited visibility.

In Rhode Island, 35 employees work on shredding electronic materials, reducing particle size, and preparing samples for smelting and refining at the Glencore recycling facility. [Read more…] about Glencore improves recycling plant safety with ELOKON automated forklift system

Renault brings in 191 Exotec robots to fully automate vehicle parts facility

June 19, 2024 by David Edwards

Renault Group has unveiled its “new-generation” logistics facility in Villeroy, which is “100 percent automated” and equipped with the system from Exotec, a French industrial robotics company.

Renault says the all-French collaboration is a world first for a car manufacturer.

Skypod robots facilitate the work of operators by picking items at height, thereby eliminating the risk of falling. The time it takes to prepare parts orders is thus divided by 6 and the surface of the storage area on the site is reduced. Rocla expands the existing AGV line and introduces shorter automated reach truck

June 2, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Rocla AGV Solutions expands the existing AGV line and introduces ARTsmf, a shorter version of our automated reach truck, offering our customers a more versatile product range to fit their unique needs even in aisles with free space as narrow as 2.85 metres.

Warehouses are designed to maximise storage capacity and support processes as efficiently as possible. Tight aisles and high-racking solutions offer space efficiency, and to maximise that efficiency, your warehouse can also be automated.

Our goal is to offer solutions that are defined by customer needs. No matter how tight the aisles might be, to consider automation in any warehouse, AGVs must be able to perform efficiently within the same space requirements as driver-operated forklifts – and that is what Rocla AGVs are able to do.
