DB Schenker implements Jungheinrich AGVs with Kollmorgen technology for terminal operations

DB Schenker – through its branch in Borås, Sweden – has taken the next step in efficiently moving goods with tight timeframes by automating internal transports and increased productivity alongside improved safety and reduced production damages.

The terminal has successfully implemented Jungheinrich Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) with Kollmorgen technology and is the first terminal within DB Schenker land to use automated forklifts in terminal operation.

ForwardX selects Optiscan as strategic distributor in Scandinavia

ForwardX Robotics, Asia’s largest vision-based autonomous mobile robot solution provider, has agreed a strategic partnership with Optiscan Group and appointed the warehouse automation specialist as its official distributor in Finland and the rest of the Nordic region, sometimes collectively called Scandinavia.

This collaboration represents a significant milestone for ForwardX’s “Go Global” strategy, as they strengthen their European presence with this project.

Kollmorgen to add VDA 5050 support to its AGV and AMR fleet manager in 2025

Specialized solutions such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) play a key role in the transformation of the material handling industry, enabling faster and more accurate receiving, storing, moving, and shipping of items globally.

VDA 5050 is a standardized interface for AGV communication.

Growing diversity in automation solutions is placing greater demand on suppliers to provide customers with flexibility, requiring solutions where several different vehicle types, sometimes from multiple vendors, must operate in the same system.

Jamco ‘improves efficiency and employee safety’ at distribution centers with DexoryView

Since announcing its expansion to the North American market in February 2024, Dexory, a data intelligence company, has seen significant growth in the market.

It has deployed its AI-powered robotics and analysis solution, DexoryView, for innovative customers across six states already. Its latest customer is Texas based Jamco Group, marking the first deployment of the technology in the “Lone Star State.”

Serve Robotics to deliver Shake Shack food with delivery robots using Uber platform

Serve Robotics, an autonomous sidewalk delivery company, and Shake Shack have agreed a partnership to deliver Shake Shack using Serve’s autonomous delivery robots via Uber Eats, the delivery platform of Uber Technologies.

Customers who order from select Shake Shack restaurants in Los Angeles through Uber Eats may receive their order via Serve’s innovative autonomous robots.

The partnership marks another step forward in the expansion of sidewalk robots on Uber Eats, which has been offering Serve’s autonomous deliveries in Los Angeles since 2022, and is poised to lead to future expansion across the US. Kenco AutoStore System now live at Jeffersonville, Indiana distribution center

Kenco, a third-party logistics provider, says its installation of a system from AutoStore, a provider of an automated storage and retrieval system, is live at the company’s Jeffersonville, Indiana distribution center.

Designed in conjunction with KPI Solutions, the system is Kenco’s largest AutoStore installation, with 49,000 bins, 130 grid robots, 10 picking ports and four replenishment ports.

Specifically designed to meet the needs of Kenco’s fulfillment customers, the AutoStore ASRS’ cubic layout quadruples storage capacity vs. traditional warehouse racking. The system maximizes existing labor and space, enabling 24/7 fulfillment and covering about a quarter of one facility at the Jeffersonville campus.
