Chinese automaker Chery begins selling humanoid robot to consumers for $42,000 each

April 13, 2026 by Sam Francis

Chinese automaker Chery has begun selling its self-developed humanoid robot to consumers, marking a notable – and somewhat unexpected – step toward the commercialization of embodied AI systems.

According to a report by CNEVPost, Chery’s robotics brand Aimoga has “officially started selling its latest robot products to ordinary consumers,” with its humanoid model priced at 285,800 yuan (approximately $41,830).

The company has launched online sales through its flagship store on JD.com, allowing consumers to “directly purchase these robots, which are capable of autonomous task execution”. [Read more…] about Chinese automaker Chery begins selling humanoid robot to consumers for $42,000 each

Humanoid robot prices fall from $85,000 to $25,000 as global market splits into tiers

March 31, 2026 by Sam Francis

The humanoid robotics industry may be approaching its first real commercial inflection point – and the signal is not a new product launch or funding round, but a sharp and accelerating decline in prices.

Recent disclosures from Unitree Robotics suggest the average price of its humanoid robots fell from approximately $85,000 in 2023 to about $25,000 in 2025 – a drop of more than 70 percent in just two years. While that figure comes from a single company, broader market data suggests the trend is not isolated.

Across the sector, humanoid robot prices now span a wide range – from around $16,000 for lower-cost platforms to more than $250,000 for advanced industrial systems, with most commercial models clustered between $20,000 and $120,000. Unitree Robotics files for $610 million IPO as humanoid robot sales surge

March 31, 2026 by Sam Francis

Unitree Robotics, which is believed to be the world’s largest humanoid robot maker, has taken a significant step toward going public, filing for an initial public offering on Shanghai’s STAR Market that could raise up to 4.2 billion yuan ($610 million).

The Hangzhou-based company’s IPO application was formally accepted by the Shanghai Stock Exchange on March 20, according to Xinhua Finance. Xinhua is the official state press agency of the People’s Republic of China.

The filing comes as Unitree reported explosive growth in 2025, with revenue surging 335 percent to 1.71 billion yuan ($250 million) and adjusted net profit reaching 600 million yuan ($90 million) – its first profitable year [Read more…] about Unitree Robotics files for $610 million IPO as humanoid robot sales surge

Why China’s new humanoid robot standards could change the industry

March 31, 2026 by Sam Francis

By the time you finish reading this sentence, another humanoid robot will have rolled off a production line somewhere in China. That is not hyperbole.

On March 30, 2026, Shanghai-based Agibot announced it had produced its 10,000th humanoid robot – a milestone the company reached after scaling from 5,000 to 10,000 units in just three months. Meanwhile, rival UBTech plans to ramp up output to 5,000 units in 2026 and 10,000 in 2027.

The humanoid robot industry is no longer a futuristic fantasy. It is a mass-production reality unfolding right now – in Chinese factories, logistics centers, and increasingly, commercial spaces like the McDonald’s in Shanghai that recently began testing robot servers. Agibot reaches 10,000 humanoid units built as real-world demand for robots accelerates

March 30, 2026 by Sam Francis

Agibot, a leading robotics company specializing in embodied intelligence, said it has rolled out its 10,000th humanoid robot, becoming one of the first companies in the industry to reach this milestone at scale.

More than a production figure, the achievement marks a significant step forward for the robotics industry, signaling a transition from early-stage validation to scalable, real-world deployment.

“Reaching 10,000 units is not simply about producing more robots, it reflects a fundamental shift in our ability to scale,” said Peng Zhihui, CTO of Agibot. [Read more…] about Agibot reaches 10,000 humanoid units built as real-world demand for robots accelerates
