Abu Dhabi fund to invest up to $35 million in Machina Labs project

December 11, 2025 by David Edwards

Strategic Development Fund, an Abu Dhabi-based investment entity wholly owned by EDGE Group, has announced the signing of an initial partnership and investment agreement with Machina Labs, a US-based specialist in next-generation AI-driven manufacturing and robotics, following discussions finalized at the Dubai Airshow 2025.

This collaboration between the parties establishes a framework to work towards creating a joint venture focusing on the production of advanced metal structures in the region using Machina Labs’ intelligent, software-defined factory technology.

This agreement is reinforced by an initial investment with additional funding by SDF that may reach up to AED 125 million (approximately $35 million) as both companies evaluate opportunities to deploy Machina Labs’ manufacturing capabilities in the UAE and region.  [Read more…] about Abu Dhabi fund to invest up to $35 million in Machina Labs project

Einride and IonQ partnership uses quantum computing to optimize the logistics of electric and autonomous freight

December 11, 2025 by David Edwards

Einride, a developer of electric and autonomous freight operations for some of the world’s largest shippers, has announced its initial results of a groundbreaking collaboration with the US-based quantum computing company IonQ to further enhance Einride’s AI-powered optimization platform, Saga. This marks the first real-world application using quantum computing to analyze commercial transport data.

Einride and IonQ entered into a three-year partnership in May 2025 to explore ways to further enhance the Company’s Saga platform through quantum technology.

Saga uses the comprehensive operational and customer data generated by Einride’s vertically integrated transport ecosystem of electric trucks, autonomous trucks, and charging infrastructure. This allows Einride to successfully serve customers’ transport demand with fewer vehicles, lower energy use, and reduced overall transport cost.

“Achieving fully electrified and automated freight networks in the most efficient way possible is an exponentially complex task,” said Roozbeh Charli, CEO at Einride. [Read more…] about Einride and IonQ partnership uses quantum computing to optimize the logistics of electric and autonomous freight

Taming AI’s hunger for data: German-Taiwanese researchers show how to use ‘the smallest technology nodes for energy-efficient AI’

December 5, 2025 by David Edwards

Artificial intelligence works fast, but its energy consumption is growing rapidly. A German-Taiwanese research team is now developing a solution: new memory for leading chip technologies smaller than 3 nm.

These innovative nanosheet devices enable computing operations directly in memory, thereby drastically reducing energy consumption. They are based on ferroelectric field-effect transistors (FeMFETs) made from hafnium oxide, which are particularly efficient.

With a joint research program, Fraunhofer IPMS, Fraunhofer IMWS, and the Taiwanese research institute TSRI are laying the foundation for the next generation of energy-efficient AI chips – from smartphones and automobiles to medical devices. Stop guessing your proxy quality: A measurement playbook for reliable scraping

November 28, 2025 by David Edwards

Web scraping breaks first at the network edge. Before parsers, selectors, or pipelines get a chance, the connection either completes or it doesn’t.

That edge has changed: almost half of web traffic is automated, a substantial share is actively hostile to bots, and most sites speak modern HTTPS with tight timeouts and fingerprint checks.

If you do not measure proxies like you measure production services, you will spend your budget shipping retries and shards of HTML. [Read more…] about Stop guessing your proxy quality: A measurement playbook for reliable scraping

The Quiet Infrastructure Behind Every Smart Factory

November 27, 2025 by David Edwards

Smart factories often draw attention for the robots moving with precision and confidence. Anyone watching sees efficiency, speed, and quiet coordination. Behind that scene sits an entire ecosystem that many people never think about.

Robots perform with precision when the environment provides stability. A robotic arm can weld, lift, or assemble with confidence when power remains clean and signals remain uninterrupted.

The moment that the foundation weakens, accuracy drops, and production slows. Every movement depends on infrastructure that performs without hesitation. [Read more…] about The Quiet Infrastructure Behind Every Smart Factory

Why is My IP Banned from My Own Website? (And How to Fix It)

November 25, 2025 by David Edwards

Getting locked out of your own website is frustrating – especially when you haven’t changed anything in your firewall, CMS, or hosting settings. Yet IP bans happen far more often than most site owners expect.

Security systems are designed to protect websites automatically, and sometimes they misinterpret normal activity as suspicious.

That’s why many professionals turn to reliable IPv4 proxies as part of their troubleshooting process, using them to create a stable and predictable access environment. With the right approach, you can quickly identify the cause of a ban and prevent it from happening again. [Read more…] about Why is My IP Banned from My Own Website? (And How to Fix It)

Allen Institute uses supercomputer Fugaku to create ‘one of the world’s most detailed virtual brain simulations’

November 20, 2025 by David Edwards

Scientists use supercomputer that can process quadrillions of calculations per second to simulate mouse cortex for ‘virtual experiments’

Harnessing the muscle of one of the world’s fastest supercomputers, researchers have built one of the largest and most detailed biophysically realistic brain simulations of an animal ever.

This virtual copy of a whole mouse cortex allows researchers to study the brain in a new way: simulating diseases like Alzheimer’s or epilepsy in the virtual world to watch in detail how damage spreads throughout neural networks or understanding cognition and consciousness.

It simulates both form and function, with almost 10 million neurons, 26 billion synapses, and 86 interconnected brain regions. [Read more…] about Allen Institute uses supercomputer Fugaku to create ‘one of the world’s most detailed virtual brain simulations’
