Texas Instruments says it has launched its highest-resolution single-chip mmWave sensors, or industrial mmWave sensors, which it claims “enable intelligent autonomy at the edge”.

The company says the plan is to advance millimeter-wave (mmWave) sensor technology in worldwide industrial applications.

TI’s new 60-GHz sensor portfolio is said to be the highest resolution single-chip, complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS), for industrial systems.  [Read more…] about Texas Instruments launches new mmWave industrial sensors

Texas Instruments has launched what it says is the industry’s first multiprotocol gigabit time-sensitive networking-enabled processor range.

The new, highly integrated Sitara AM6x processor family provides industrial-grade reliability, with quad and dual Arm Cortex-A53 core variants built to meet the rapidly evolving needs of Industry 4.0 in factory automation, motor drives and grid infrastructure.

By supporting gigabit throughput rates for TSN standards and other industrial protocols in a specific subsystem, Sitara AM6x processors are built for the convergence of both Ethernet and real-time data traffic on a single network.  [Read more…] about TI claims ‘first’ multiprotocol gigabit TSN-enabled processors for cyber-physical systems

TI collaborates with Heidenhain on first industrial drive control system-on-chip

April 11, 2018 by Anna

Texas Instruments (TI), with help from Heidenhain, has developed a microcontroller (MCU) for the semiconductor industry—the C2000TM MCU.

The C2000 offers the Heidenhain EnDat 2.2 interface as an option and delivers a complete solution with a direct connection for industrial motor and servo drives, supporting both analog and digital position sensors.

When combined with TI’s DesignDRIVE Position Manager, this new solution eliminates the complexities of position sensor management in the industrial drive development cycle, saving ancillary components, development time and system cost.
