9 Reasons Why Should you Change Career after Age 50

September 10, 2020 by Polly

Changing careers after age 50 can be challenging. But older workers who no longer find their jobs full-filling should not be harsh on themselves.

People are working and living longer now. Someone who is approaching their 50s may have 10-20 more years ahead until they finally retire.

So, in many situations, changing careers after age 50 makes a lot of sense. [Read more…] about 9 Reasons Why Should you Change Career after Age 50

Robots reduce training time in material handling sector, says Yale

August 26, 2020 by David Edwards

Reducing the time companies spend training new employees are among the many benefits robots bring to the industrial sector, says Yale.

The 100-year-old locksmith’s company partners with Balyo to offer robotic solutions such as autonomous forklift trucks for the material handling industry.

Yale Europe Materials Handling says it now offers “sophisticated robotic solutions” which can adjust to changes in their surroundings. [Read more…] about Robots reduce training time in material handling sector, says Yale

What robots want: Using machine-learning to teach effectively

August 17, 2020 by David Edwards

By Hyunsoo (Hyun) Kim, co-founder and CEO of Superb AI

AI is having a moment. One need only casually scan the news each week to see that the topics of artificial intelligence and machine learning have grown like ivy, extending their tendrils into stories as varied as racial bias, hiring, and of course, identifying spiders.

But for all the diverse applications of AI across our inboxes, magazines and evening news, few outside of the engineering community have a robust understanding of what the terms actually mean, or how the robots and algorithms we increasingly rely upon come to know how to do the complex jobs humans assign to them.

For starters, the machines involved in machine learning are increasingly more likely to take the form of a disembodied hivemind than a humanoid assistant. [Read more…] about What robots want: Using machine-learning to teach effectively

Hyundai Robotics establishes Europe office to expand robot business

July 6, 2020 by Mai Tao

Hyundai Robotics has established a new Europe office in Ismaning, Germany.

Germany occupies about 37 percent of the robot demand in Europe and it has an advantageous location because it is close to four countries in Western Europe (Germany, Italy, France, Spain) with an “overwhelming robot demand” compared to other regions.

The decision to establish an office in Germany was also based on convenient transportation to Czechia and Slovakia, where the first and second vendors of Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors are located. [Read more…] about Hyundai Robotics establishes Europe office to expand robot business
