Fruitcore Robotics launches new version of its industrial robot

Fruitcore Robotics has launched its second industrial robotic arm – the HORST1000 G2. This new robot follows on from the HORST1500, which the company describes as “the first industrial robot of the new generation of digital robots”.

The second robot of this new generation combines innovative drive technology with intuitive operation and AI Copilot. HORST1000 G2 is quick to install and program – it requires no expert knowledge. Sonair raises $6.8 million to develop ‘breakthrough’ 3D ultrasonic sensor

Sonair has closed a new funding round, led by Skyfall Ventures, to “propel the robotics industry into a new era of sensing technology”.

The investment introduces a completely new category of sensors that will transform a mobile robot’s spatial awareness from 2D to 3D, offering a significantly improved safety performance over traditional vision systems while cutting costs by 50-80 percent.

Simbe Robotics expands into Turkey with Carrefour

Simbe Robotics, which describes itself as “the only multimodal provider of store intelligence solutions”, has agreed a new international partnership with CarrefourSA, a Turkish subsidiary of Sabanci Holding and Carrefour Group which operates in over 1,200 stores across 64 provinces and employs a workforce of 15,000.

MassRobotics reveals its 2024 awards winners

MassRobotics, a robotics innovation organization, has revealed its 2024 Robotics Medal and Rising Star recipients at the IEEE ICRA@40 conference in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The Robotics Medal is the world’s first major prize to recognize the wide-ranging impact of female researchers focusing on the development of robotics around the globe.

The Robotics Medal is awarded to a woman-identifying, researcher-nominated professor in robotics to recognize their impactful contributions to the field and includes a $50,000 prize awarded to the individual.

AUAR ships ABB robot-centered micro-factories to the US to build homes

Construction tech startup Automated Architecture (AUAR) is shipping two of its robotic micro-factories to the US, in the company’s first move to expanding operations to North America.

The first of its kind, AUAR’s micro-factories will be deployed by Rival Holdings, a real estate development and construction firm, to build thousands of sustainable and affordable homes across the Midwest.

AUAR’s project caters to a growing need in the region. The partnership between AUAR and Rival Holdings aims to address the ongoing housing crisis in the US.

Richtech Robotics introduces ‘Scorpion’ service robot

Richtech Robotics, a Nevada-based provider of AI-driven service robots, has launched Scorpion, its AI-powered, single-arm beverage service robot.

Providing customized drink recommendations based on preferences and mood, Scorpion leverages Nvidia AI technologies to support its cocktail and wine tasting programs.

Additionally, Richtech Robotics signed a distributor agreement with Park 34 Liquor Store, under which the distributor has agreed to sell a minimum of 500 Scorpion units over five years, followed by a minimum of 500 units per year annually. HEBI Robotics awarded $150,000 grant by NASA

HEBI Robotics, creator of a robot development platform that makes it possible to quickly design and create robust robots, has been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant by NASA to develop smart robotic actuation hardware and building blocks that are compatible with the HEBI Platform for robot development, and suitable for use in missions to space.

Bob Raida, CEO of HEBI Robotics, says: “For 10 years, HEBI has been working to streamline the process of developing robots. Customers around the world use our system to create robust robots that would have been infeasible without the HEBI Platform.

“Many of those users are designing systems that will ultimately be deployed in space.
