RLWRLD launches open platform to benchmark dexterous robotic hands

July 7, 2026 by Sam Francis

RLWRLD, a physical AI company with a proprietary robotics foundation model, RLDX-1, has announced the launch of “All Hands Up!”, an open web platform that provides technical reports and visualization tools based on the company’s firsthand experience operating a wide range of commercially available dexterous robot hands.

All Hands Up! is designed to analyze and share the real-world operating performance and design trade-offs of robotic hands that are difficult to assess through manufacturer specification sheets alone.

RLWRLD developed the platform based on operational data collected from real-world use, aiming to address a question repeatedly raised across research and industrial settings: “Which robotic hands perform effectively in real-world environments?” [Read more…] about RLWRLD launches open platform to benchmark dexterous robotic hands

RLWRLD unveils ‘dexterity-first’ foundation model for humanoid robots

May 15, 2026 by David Edwards

RLWRLD, a physical AI company developing robotics foundation models for dexterous manipulation, unveiled RLDX-1 at “Dexterity Night in SF”, introducing a model designed to help humanoid robots perform contact-rich tasks such as grasping, pouring and tool use.

The company also reported benchmark results across humanoid tabletop, kitchen manipulation and real-world coffee-pouring evaluations, and said the model runs across multiple robot embodiments including WIRobotics’ Allex humanoid, Franka Research 3 and OpenArm.

At the launch event, Amit Goel, head of robotics ecosystem and edge AI product at Nvidia, took the stage and said: “RLWRLD is one of the core partners in the physical AI ecosystem we are building at Nvidia.” [Read more…] about RLWRLD unveils ‘dexterity-first’ foundation model for humanoid robots

Genesis AI raises $105 million to build ‘universal’ robotics foundation model

July 1, 2025 by Sam Francis

Genesis AI, a global physical AI research lab and full-stack robotics company, emerged from stealth today with a mission to unlock unlimited physical labor.

The company is building a universal robotics foundation model (RFM) and a horizontal robotics platform, raising $105 million co-led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures, with participation from Bpifrance, HSG, and visionary leaders Eric Schmidt and Xavier Niel.

Physical labor contributes an estimated $30-40 trillion to the Global GDP, yet over 95 percent of it remains unautomated due to the limitations of current automation solutions. Today’s robotic systems, such as industrial arms, rely on brittle, rigid, and overfitted software stacks. Google DeepMind launches new vision language action model to ‘put AI directly into local robotic devices’

June 26, 2025 by Sam Francis

Google DeepMind has introduced an efficient, on-device robotics model designed for general-purpose dexterity and rapid task adaptation.

This new offering, known as Gemini Robotics On-Device, is an optimized version of the Gemini Robotics VLA (vision language action) model, which was initially launched in March to integrate Gemini 2.0’s multimodal reasoning into physical applications.

Gemini Robotics On-Device is specifically engineered to operate locally on robotic devices, ensuring robust performance in environments with limited or no network connectivity and providing low-latency inference crucial for sensitive applications.
