Levita Magnetics wins FDA clearance for its robotic surgery system

September 25, 2023 by Mark Allinson

Levita Magnetics, whose mission is to help more patients get access to better surgery, says it has received US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its MARS platform.

The Levita MARS system is a first-of-its-kind minimally invasive surgical platform aimed at the high-volume abdominal surgery market.

Harnessing the power of both magnets and machines, MARS reduces the number of incisions and enables surgeons to have complete control during laparoscopic procedures, all in a compact footprint designed to fit into existing operating rooms. Democratizing Friction Stir Welding: High-Quality FSW at a Fraction of the Cost

September 14, 2023 by David Edwards

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a distinctive solid-state joining process that diverges from traditional welding techniques, which often rely on melting materials.

Rather than using heat, FSW employs mechanical energy to fuse metals, delivering robust and pristine welds. Since its inception in the early 1990s, FSW has garnered the attention of industry experts, heralding a transformative phase in manufacturing.

Emphasizing precision and sustainability, FSW exemplifies how engineering advancements can revolutionize practices. [Read more…] about Democratizing Friction Stir Welding: High-Quality FSW at a Fraction of the Cost
