Renault Group invests in ‘humanoid robot’ maker Wandercraft

Renault Group has made a minority investment in Wandercraft, which is said to be “the first company to develop, manufacture and market medical self-balancing exoskeletons”.

Building on its strong expertise in powerful and reliable exoskeletons, Wandercraft has developed an advanced platform for uses such as manufacturing.

Renault brings in 191 Exotec robots to fully automate vehicle parts facility

Renault Group has unveiled its “new-generation” logistics facility in Villeroy, which is “100 percent automated” and equipped with the system from Exotec, a French industrial robotics company.

Renault says the all-French collaboration is a world first for a car manufacturer.

Skypod robots facilitate the work of operators by picking items at height, thereby eliminating the risk of falling. The time it takes to prepare parts orders is thus divided by 6 and the surface of the storage area on the site is reduced. Renault to launch autonomous vehicle for public transportation

Renault Group says it has “a pragmatic vision of technology”, based on the principle that innovation only makes sense if it is shared, economically accessible and genuinely useful to as many people as possible.

Technological developments are now making it possible to offer increasingly effective driver assistance and delegation functions adapted to different types of vehicles and use.

Renault Trucks signs ‘historic agreement’ with the Carlsberg Group to deliver 20 electric trucks

Renault Trucks says it is taking “a critical step in the transformation of urban transport” by signing of a contract with the Carlsberg Group to deliver 20 D Wide ZE vehicles.

These 100 per cent electric 26-tonne trucks, which will be delivered in 2020, will be operated by the Feldschlösschen brewery, the Carlsberg Group’s Swiss subsidiary.

Seine Alliance takes ‘first’ fully-electric passenger boat to Paris

Seine Alliance, a partnersip between Groupe Renault and Green Vision, has launched what it is the “first 100 per cent electric passenger boat with second life batteries” to Paris, France.

The “Black Swan”, as the boat is called, is specifically designed for private or business cruises on the Seine, the main river is Paris.

The aim of Seine Alliance and its partners is to be able to demonstrate the effectiveness of a model based on the principle of the circular economy, in order to reproduce it and create synergies between the various mobility players. Renault opens new design center in Shanghai

Global automotive brand Renault has opened a new design center in the Chinese city of Shanghai.

The new design center in Shanghai will support Groupe Renault’s expansion strategy in China, which has been the world’s number-one car market since 2009.

Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi partner with Plug and Play China

Alliance Ventures, the venture capital fund that invests in technology start-ups for Groupe Renault, Nissan Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motors, is partnering with Plug and Play China, part of the global innovation platform.

“China is leading innovation in the automotive industry,” said Francois Dossa, Alliance Global Vice President, Ventures and Open Innovation; Chairman of Alliance Ventures.

Renault unveiled its autonomous electric car concept Trezor

Alliance Ventures, the strategic venture capital arm of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, has invested in the latest round of funding in Enevate Corporation, an advanced lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery technology company based in Irvine, California, USA.

Alliance Ventures was launched last year to support start-ups, early-stage development, and entrepreneurs at the cutting edge of next-generation systems for the automotive industry.

The investment reflects the capability of Enevate in breakthrough Li-ion batteries capable of extreme fast charging with high energy density.

Van production expands for Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi in France

The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance has added new production capacity in its manufacturing facilities in Maubeuge and Sandouville, France.

Maubeuge serves as Renault’s small van center of excellence and Sandouville is the production center for the Renault Trafic van.
