The Role of OCR Technology in Robotic Process Automation

October 18, 2024 by Mark Allinson

Businesses need to handle vast amounts of data in their daily operations. This data is used in conjunction with process automation systems.

In order to streamline business operations, OCR (optical character recognition) software is used together with robotic process automation (RPA).

This synergy is transforming how companies extract, process, and utilize information from various documents and sources. [Read more…] about The Role of OCR Technology in Robotic Process Automation

What is OCR and What is it Used For?

August 7, 2024 by Mark Allinson

The digitalization of business means that more and more documents are handled electronically. This of course requires their entry into the appropriate system, which usually involves scanning.

This is facilitated by OCR, or optical text recognition technology. What exactly is it? What is the use of OCR? The answers to these and other questions can be found in this article. [Read more…] about What is OCR and What is it Used For?

Beyond Fingerprints: The Advanced Iris Recognition Solutions from ROC

July 1, 2024 by Abdul Montaqim

Iris recognition is a biometric identification method that focuses on the unique patterns found in the iris, which is the colored part of the eye surrounding the pupil.

This technology is highly accurate and reliable, with meager false match rates. However, specialized equipment is required to capture high-resolution images for precise identification.

The iris itself, located at the front of the eye, is a pigmented, circular muscle that regulates the size of the pupil, controlling how much light enters the eye to ensure optimal vision. [Read more…] about Beyond Fingerprints: The Advanced Iris Recognition Solutions from ROC

11 Expectations in the Development of AI Transcription

July 21, 2022 by David Edwards

Does the name Audrey Hepburn ring a bell?

Way back in 1952, it was the first computer speech recognition tool. Even though the technology was groundbreaking, the software could understand only digits.

Since then, transcription software has come a long way.

Today, transcription tools use immersive technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) to convert speech to text. Transcription tools can automatically record a conversation and convert that into text within a few minutes. [Read more…] about 11 Expectations in the Development of AI Transcription

The Use of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Apple Devices

June 14, 2021 by Mark Allinson

From the iPhone to the Mac, iPad, iPod and the Apple Watch, Apple excels, and continues to do so, in hardware innovation and software development.

However, not much is known about Apple’s plan with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it’s used in Apple products, or apps in general.

In its recent WWDC performance, Apple seems to have taken a quieter, yet smarter approach by adding several features and updates with machine learning at their core. [Read more…] about The Use of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Apple Devices

Trustworthy Substation Inspection Robot Requires Low Power, High Performance, and Multi-Interface Fanless Embedded System

June 4, 2021 by Elaine

A New Generation of Miniaturized, Lightweight, and Modular Wheeled Inspection Robot Powered by DFI Palm-sized Fanless Embedded System in China

Wheeled, substation, and intelligent inspection robots can effectively reduce labor intensity, substation operation, and maintenance costs. It can also improve inspection data quality and create a new substation inspection mode.

With low power consumption, high performance, complete I/O interface, and excellent technical support capabilities, DFI’s EC70A-SU assists Chinese customers to create a new generation of miniaturized, lightweight, and modular wheeled inspection robots. As a result, it improved the intellectual level of substation inspection.

Substation inspection robots mainly serve various substations, concentrated primarily on large-scale substations above 500kV. Therefore, they are used mainly to inspect substation equipment. They are divided into visible light inspections and infrared inspections. Changing Material Handling Industry Accelerates AGV Robotics

March 2, 2021 by David Edwards

By John Hayes, Balyo USA

Economic policies from Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0, and connected warehouses point to the imperative to lower costs, increase productivity, and guarantee quality. There are as many forklift truck operator positions to be filled as there are IT developer and R&D engineer jobs combined.

In the United States, 65 percent of the businesses surveyed by Deloitte (as part of its annual Supply Chain report) noted that it is “extremely difficult” to hire qualified warehouse labor.

Moving pallets is expensive. One of the global Fast Moving Customer Goods (FMCG) leaders estimates spending “almost 380 million dollars per year” for tasks that create no additional value for the business. [Read more…] about Changing Material Handling Industry Accelerates AGV Robotics
