Addverb partners with Purdue University to offer engineering students real-world experience of industrial automation

Automation solutions provider Addverb has launched a smart factory with Purdue University’s School of Engineering Technology.

Addverb’s live automation system comprising both hardware and software will enable Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MFET) undergraduate students and faculty to interact with real-world applications of modern industrial automation in supply chain management and warehouse design.

Purdue University offers leading STEM undergraduate programs in the United States. Addverb’s on-campus smart factory will help students better understand how flexible automation works in various industry settings, and can scale to meet the needs of a specific factory or warehouse without significant infrastructural changes. Czech retailer’s robots clean 20 million square metres

Albert, said to be one of the Czech Republic’s largest retail brands, says its fleet of autonomous mobile robots have officially cleaned over 20 million square metres (215 million square feet), completing over 92,000 cleaning routes.

The industrial cleaning robots were implemented across Albert’s Czech Republic hypermarkets and two distribution centres. During 2023, Albert says it will “almost double” the number of stores with robot deployments for the robots.

In 2022, the market for autonomous mobile robots was expected to be worth $2.85 billion. By 2032, the market is anticipated to reach a value greater than $20.99 billion. The forecast period is expected to see this market expand at a compound annual growth rate of 22.1 percent, according to Fact Market Research.

The rising demand for automation in manufacturing and logistics industry is expected to drive the growth of the autonomous mobile robots market. The increasing need to reduce operational costs, improve efficiency and accuracy, and enhance productivity is anticipated to boost the growth of the market.

The growing trend of automation in warehousing operations is also a major factor driving the growth of the autonomous mobile robots market. With the launch of Otto 600, Otto Motors now offers the most comprehensive autonomous material handling fleet on the market.

Otto 600 unlocks important new workflows with its ability to move pallets, carts and other payloads up to 600 kg (1,322 lb). Comau developing new mobile robot solution for three EU projects

Security robots ‘deter crime and minimize risk’, says Knightscope

The concept of automated policing began as a science fiction concept years ago, but today it is “real and impactful”, according to security robotics specialist Knightscope.

The sophistication of robot-powered security is even more interesting than sci-fi to Stacy Stephens, the co-founder and chief client officer of Knightscope.

ForwardX Robotics launches competition to win free fleet of robots

ForwardX Robotics is running a competition to win a fleet of 10 autonomous mobile robots as part of a warehouse automation system.

ForwardX Robotics, a supplier of AMR-based assisted picking solutions worldwide, launched the competition at the ProMat Show, which is in its final day today. The company says it will giveaway a 10-AMR system to a lucky winner in the United States.

Robotize to launch new robot and mobile lift staton at LogiMAT

Robotize, a provider of autonomous mobile robots for internal pallet transport, will be presenting a new robot as well as a new mobile lift station at this year’s LogiMAT exhibition.

The new GoPal E22 AMR supports a payload of up to 500 kg and will become the smallest robot in Robotize’s range of AMRs, which includes the GoPal E24 (1,000 kg) and the GoPal E24W/U24W (1,200 kg).

Anders Pjetursson, CEO at Robotize, says: “We have received many requests for an updated entry-level AMR, and we believe that the GoPal E22 is the perfect entry point for manufacturers and warehouses looking to move into the future of automated pallet transportation.
