Cornerstone Robotics raises over $70 million to commercialize its robotic surgery system

May 26, 2025 by Mai Tao

Cornerstone Robotics, a developer of surgical robotics, has raised over $70 million in Series C financing led by EQT with participation from Qiming Venture Partners, Alpha JWC Ventures, the Innovation and Technology Venture Fund, eGarden Ventures, CTS Funds, K2VC, Long-Z Capital, and others.

This funding will accelerate the company’s efforts in advancing the commercialization process, developing new surgical robotics products, conducting clinical trials, obtaining regulatory approvals, and promoting global adoption of advanced robotic surgical solutions.

In addition to receiving funding from a group of prominent investors, the company headquartered in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, also received investment from the Innovation and Technology Venture Fund under the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. EPHJ: Microtechnology event keeps it simple while using a complicated name

June 18, 2019 by Abdul Montaqim

It might have an inexplicably complex name, but the EPHJ-EPMT-SMT event, which just got under way today in Geneva, is a trade show about what is, arguably, one of the simplest forms of technology.

By “simplest”, I mean it’s about mechanical technology – gears, springs, and so on – almost exclusively, with computer technology playing a very small part, if at all. And it’s all about small-scale.

Certainly the watchmaking aspect of the show is almost entirely about mechanical timepieces. The jewellery-making strand also features mechanised equipment. And the medical technology side, while requiring computing in some areas, is also mostly about mechanical equipment. The annual EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Show is one of a kind, unique, in that it is the only trade fair dedicated to microtechnology.

The event is known worldwide for the quality of the exhibiting companies and for the diversity of innovations presented.

Leading companies in three sectors – watchmaking, jewelry, micro-technologies and medical technology – meet every year in Geneva to confront the market and present their products or services to some 20 000 professionals visitors from five continents.  [Read more…] about EPHJ: High-precision industry meets in Geneva

EPHJ partners with Inartis Foundation to launch microtechnology challenge

April 18, 2018 by Sam Francis

The EPHJ-EPMT-SMT Trade Show, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland next week, brings together expertise in watchmaking, microtechnology and medical technology under one roof.

It is one of the very few shows of its kind in the world, possibly the only one, and taps into Swiss watchmaking traditions and industry.

And this year, the event’s organisers plan to go even further by joining forces with the Inartis Foundation to launch the first competition for the development of ideas – the “Watch Medtech Innovation Challenge”, or “Watch Medtech”.  [Read more…] about EPHJ partners with Inartis Foundation to launch microtechnology challenge
